Weight decrease is not visible in the relative performance, so I count that still as a rumour.
That was rumored for Imola, not Melbourne.
No, it's planned for Imola.
One dutch journalist claimed they already lost 7 kg of the planned 10 kg for Melbourne already. That most likely was BS.
Maybe just a wrong interpretation. They will bring update to imola, they already achieved 7 kg decrease and at imola "six pack" will be completely visible.

Short video with Christian Horner about Ferrari and other things.

"It looks like they're going to have a little bit of a headache with all that bouncing going on [...]
and the long runs were not really long enough to know [if] that is going to have an effect on degradation [...]
We know they have a very, very quick car but I still think we can race them [...]"

It look like Redbull has many jobs to finish car and especially understanding tyres. If they can use tyre good enough they were faster than ferrari here ( I think ).

If what they say is true and the weight of the car is 7-10kg heavier than Ferrari, that's your tyre wear sorted

The problem today was balance, not weight difference. If by saving on weight they can fix the balance then sure, otherwise I'm not exactly sure how you can claim that... Mercs had at least similar race pace to RBR today and they are also heavy and badly setup to help their porpoising, and were blistering tyres too.

If it's balance, then that kinda is a good thing? Hopefully they can fix that and then if they loose weight on top of that, the performance should be better, hopefully

They spent the whole weekend trying to fix it, they had balance problems since FP1, spent 20 minutes of FP2 in box to try something different. Completely changed setup for FP3, and then changed again between Q2 and Q3. They've been having understeer since the start of the season but so far every track was kinda rear limited or benefiting low downforce.

Don't get me wrong, getting rid of 7-10kg is going to help for sure, but the downforce at the front is probably their real head scratcher together with reliability.

On what evidence?
50% finishing record for RB.
Ferrari finishing a pitstop ahead of the surviving RB
2:1 Pole advantage to Ferrari
Ferrari 1st 104pnts. RB 3rd 55pnts
Charles 71pnts, Checo 30pnts, Max 25pnts.

when I said vers was faster until his tyres finish at this race and when you talk about other races, it is not a good aproach.

What were the 2 failures in Bahrain? Fuel cavitation in the tank causing a air lock?

Now we have a fuel leak from the tank to the pump.

I mean whilst its not drastic, its not good in terms of finishing the race. The pretty minor issues in the grand scheme of things, given it could be bigger hardware going such as ICE, MGU's etc etc.

Hopefully this will not be the season 'fast but fragile'...

About tyre wear: I think the low downforce setup on this particular track did hurt them more than in Bahrain and Jeddah. VER was already hinting about a more abrasive surface. Lots of homework.

Nice way to start a brand new 6-year contract Max...

I really want to see tensions rise between Max and Red Bull! I want to see him in a Mercedes after Lewis retires...
