The steps from the tub on the rear part of the floor are interesting and I believe fairly unique to the MCL36, also note the vortex generators on the flap on the sides of the floor
The RB has similar steps but the MCL ones look bigger.

Think the verdict is how well they do on track.

They seem to be doing the same things as everyone else...that is push a lot of the air out the front floor, under front of sidepods. Then having a series of high spots to guide some air out of the floor just before the rear tire were the GULF logo and the so called vortex generators are. Just behind and around that they have a very complex outer floor section that I have no idea what it's trying to do.

Probably same thing floats on aircraft or boats have steps on their hulls.

I presume you mean the air guides? The higher sections (or lower depending on how you're looking at it) on the floor?

The objects that have the yellow arrows pointing at them in the photo. On the inboard side on the venturi. Just before the diffuser.
Are they called "air guides" in this application?
On a boat or aircraft float they are used to break the laminar flow in order to reduce drag.

Was looking at the wrong photo. I have no idea what the steps pointed to by the yellow arrows are doing. If I had to guess...
Since the air is going in that direction, I would suspect it has little to no effect to the air. That they are there for something on the other side that we can't see.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems that Ferrari keep all the incoming flow under the floor feeding the venturi while McL divert the central portion above the floor around the sidepods. It could makes quite a big difference imo.

Ferrari have 4 distinct exits from the floor on each side.

1 - The ribbed exits at the front.
2 - Raise floor section right behind the ribbed section.
3 - Behind the raised floor section, the floor drops down again. Between 2 lowered 30cm sections we see a reverse "V" opening in the floor.
4 - The diffuser.

They also put an opening in the side of the diffuser to suck more air into the diffuser.

Anyone seen any clearer images of the new bib area?
Nice to see the bib has been reduced in width and better resembling an aero device in lieu of the very wide blunt bib in the previous iteration of this floor.
Any ideas as to what is at the mid point of the bib? I thought it might be a wing at first but after changing the contrast of the pic it look more like it has collapsed?
has the channel between the bib and the inboard fence been blocked with something?
