Norris tells it like it is. Eight time winner shouldn't need help from the babyfaced teammate.

Car seems to porpoise quite a bit both for Lando and Daniel.

So what was the issue McLaren had with Audi? From the press release, they're coming in as a power unit manufacturer.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Didn’t they want to buy the team earlier on?

McLaren want more money but don't really want a rebrand, Audi don't want much of what they offer, but definitely want their own brand front and center. I think in the end for the money asked, what was on offer wasn't
really what was wanted (ie. for Audi, the separate supercar factory that also has the McLaren name and profits from F1 marketing is a complication, as well as all the other motorsports efforts and plans I'd say).

Would it be a bad thing for us to go for Mick Schumacher? I think he has enough experience now to at least be more consistent and he has shown glimpses of his raw speed - Or is Piastri that much better?
Piastri should be faster. Mick took two years to win his championships while Piastri won on his first year.

Also, listening to Audi announcement, I am getting a feeling Mick will move to Alfa Romeo/Sauber and stay there until Audi comes along. They said they'd prefer a German driver and a German race but that they haven't made a decision on a team. Not many German drivers around at the moment.
I don’t think that’s a fair statement… Saying that Piastri is faster / better because he won the Championship in his first try, you can’t measure them that way in terms of raw speed in F1. (Norris didn’t win the F2 Championship and was almost beaten to P2 by Albon).

Been said that, Mick hasn’t showed much so far in F1 and there are better choices from a driving and marketing perspective out there.

Beyond rumors, we don’t know what the negotiations entailed… Been said that, if it would only be an engine deal, why be a guinea pig when you can stay with a proven engine from Mercedes?

Do you have data on maximum speed in training? The F1 titer showed that RIC was the first 309 km / h.

Slightly off topic, but with Audi's confirmation as a 2026 engine supplier, I really wonder who will be powering McLaren come 2026. I hope they can acquire some type of works deal.

Rumor is, Audi is actually buying 75% of Sauber, so I'd expect them being Audi works team

Reading that, I get the feeling Norris could had done more to help Ricciardo and with that increase the points we scored as a team. It’s a bit of selfish way to look at it I guess..
If I read trough the interviews of the past half year I have the feeling they have completely different approaches to the same problem.

They both suffered from a difficult car but Norris seems to approach it methodically and analytically: He basically said a couple of times: I need to spend a lot if time in the Sim and reinvent my drivestyle.

Ricciardo was approaching it more as a psychological problem: statement like “I need to get in the right headspace, have a natural reset” suggest to me that he was expecting his talent to carry him through once he found his mojo.

So you have one guy working in the sim to find the right approach to a corner and one guy running dirtbikes in his backyard trying to clear his head.

These two seem so incompatible that I doubt Norris could help Ricciardo. Perhaps he even tried and got frustrated.

Suppousedly with Mclaren they wanted to buy the whole company(road car division included) and Macca didn't want that.
Remains to be seen which form their(Audi) entry will take, engine+car branding or will they actually buy in to a team?
