We now sit just 6 points behind Alpine.

What a race from Lando, was he conserving fuel or tyres earlier in the race?

I didn't get to watch much unfortunately, but where was this pace earlier?

No, they just had a good strategy, whilst others crashed out

Lando pitted twice, and managed to put that to good use at the end of the race with a tyre advantage over Alonso, Magnasun and Gasley, who all tried a 1 stop

I caught the end and saw him racing past everyone and thought, why are we only doing this now??! Lol

Good strategy for a track that is open to overtaking, but kudos to Landos racecraft to pull it off.

Imagine if he'd have waited a little longer to pit under the safety car

I’d rather be a fan than a hater.

I don't think there are much haters. Although some people are being overdramatic about his performances, most people would love to have seen Ricciardo succeed at McLaren. Myself included. He is a likeable guy, who was fast in the past. All fans were pleasently surprised with his arrival in the team. However, considering he earns the big bucks (somewhere 15-20 million a year) it comes with expectations and responsibilities. The team and fans expect good performances and are right so. Calling out that he hasn't performed as expected, does not make you a hater. It is just what it is. One can be stubborn and point at the car traits, but he should have extracted more. Nothing more, nothing less.

Top drivers changing teams has gone horribly wrong before and will do so again (Fernando rejoining McLaren also springs to mind).

Sebastian Buemi was their reserve for years, never got back a race seat. It's more likely De Vries is the long term target for the Red Bull seat, if Perez leaves.
