Not really, McLaren don't even have their own proper tunnel, they use Toyota's in Germany.

Its old... but heavily modified to specialize for a f1 car, its a standalone wind tunnel as well so its easily modifiable, compared one in MTC which seems like a engineering nightmare. All the f1 wind tunnels work the same, a closed loop system, the real gains are in the working section (which is what's being upgraded right now)

Yeah, I have no clue. All I can tell you is what he said in the press conference. Not that I'd be surprised by RBR playing down the abilities of their wind tunnel. God knows they've had the money to make it cutting edge.

Rather misleading, RBR have constantly upgraded their windtunnel, doesn't matter if it's old if you update it every couple of years - and it's fairly specialised for race car situations - afaik they can do much more yaw analysis, and even tandem vehicles both on rigs - Mclaren is trundling off to an old tunnel in Germany every time they need to and that was predominately built for road cars.

I think Seidl summed Christian Horner up the best when he was asked in Mexico after Horners press conference if he had listened to any of it, to which Seidl replied: ‘I don’t have time to listen to fairytales’

I can’t understand why Daniel ricciardo believes having 2 year terrible years with mclaren then taking a year out completely from f1 will enable him to drive at the front of the grid in 2024. It’s almost delusional. I like ricciardo but I can easily see him out of f1 if he doesn’t drop down the pecking order.

Pretty sure if ALO was in a 2021 Merc or a 2022 RBR or Ferrari, he can consistently challenge at the front and he took 2 years off...
PS: Before I get jumped on, I think ALO is a generational talent but has major off track issues.

You mean like he answer too many questions without thinking how those answers can be turned around into insulting people which isn't his intention in the first place?

He's more composed in the car, especially looking at the last race. he waited to get out of the car to yell and scream.

Alonso hadn’t shown evidence of a significant decline in his performance. I like ricciardo. But I mean why would a top team sign him in 2024. Hes older and slower than the drivers they have.
