It’s just one of those youtubers with fake leaks to overhype and get clicks nothing is trueatanatizante wrote: ↑25 Jan 2023, 14:23In this video, they claim that W14 will have a thicker floor (in order to reduce porpoising), which adds weight, so the car is now narrower/shorter, which in turn gives additional benefits (lower the weight, change the weight distribution and improve the car's low corner driveability...).
In addition, the new car has a modified transmission, which is accompanied by a new rear suspension. Then the rear of the car is less tapered for 2 reasons: 1. the flat section of the rear suspension is forming a T-shape to increase the diffuser's efficiency, thus taking more advantage of the beam wing effect. The second reason is to have less of the floor exposed to the above forces, which causes flexing around the edges...
They also say that HPP has also improved engine combustion with the help of the new Petronas fuel. This is in line with the rumours regarding this allowance for reliability reasons:
The thicker floor is a bit of low hanging fruit as far as guesses go, given the revised 2023 technical regulations mandate stiffer diffuser edges and the Mercedes diffuser edge was flappier than the average bird's wing.atanatizante wrote: ↑25 Jan 2023, 14:23In this video, they claim that W14 will have a thicker floor (in order to reduce porpoising), which adds weight, so the car is now narrower/shorter, which in turn gives additional benefits (lower the weight, change the weight distribution and improve the car's low corner driveability...).

If the car is right in the first 3 races, yes I see them in the mix. If they are still not where they thought, they are not going to catch up this year either.Venturiation wrote: ↑29 Jan 2023, 15:37Are you guys thinking Mercedes can catch up this year ? I don’t see them getting out of 3rd place with 1 year late on development, they could even endup 4th place
