It is that aggressive the front-on shots have already confirmed that

Vanja and a few others were having discussions recently that you could have something like this..

it's basically Last year's williams sloped sidepod morphed with rest of the outer part of the sidepod

What if you combine micro-sidepods (a la FW44/W13 'mark 1') with wide sidepod shoulders?
It's basically a more agressive version of the A522 'mark 2', where the water slides descend more directly : )
But good luck with the exhaust packaging and the hot air channeling.
Unless you use multiple shark gills instead of rear cannon exists (Ferrari/Haas/Alfa), or a big centerline cooling system (especially like... Williams), or opt to use 1 PU per race.

What i can glean so far is that the mercedes pu cars seem to have better cooling systems. Possibly influenced by the works team.
Less vents on the sidepods and more rear outlet biased cooling.
The next would be Honda as seen on the Alpha tauri.

In this view, it very much looks like a first gen Williams "short pod" , with a fence/shoulder on the outside.

This extreme concept I believe will only work with a side wall, unlike the Williams short pod(for downwash). There are a few things I can see that allow for the flow to stay attached and slide down the valley without much losses.

1) no vents on top keep flow energy high
2) the mirror stay is lift profile so it preconditions to bend the flow field slightly downwards.
3) the two VGs under mirror and halo both generate counter rotating vortices helping the the downwash in the middle.
4) the Side wall acts not only as a shield against tire wake but also creates a large NACA inlet like geometry in that area. Obviouly there won't be a strong side wall vortex like in a NACA but there will be some circulation around the wall that helps spill in the some flow from the outside in to fill the volume.

Alpines waterside last year weren't that deep, but the drop off and curvature at the start of the ramp was more aggressive and more prone to separation given the smaller radius. If that held then this certainly would.

The Aston Martin t-tray is extremely closely stacked compared to any other double t-tray that has appeared

I’m not an expert on this, but it seems to me that the closer they are stacker the more high energy airflow it will create as there is less space for the airflow to travel or be directed

Seems to be a HQ one on AM account that gives glimpses of footage - the few high speed seconds you see seemed to indicate a stable looking platform and no porpoising - so a first glimpse into the rear suspension that their Mercedes partnership provides.

Car looks nice on track - super intrigued to see how they go during testing next week and of course when we go racing.
