Red Bull RB19

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The rool hoop inlet is far, far smaller. Seems like the high nose was a livery illusion caused by the yellow not extending to the tip of the nose.

Can't really see if the front wing really raises in the centre from any of the current angles
What it does appear to have is a short (longitudinal length) to the end-plate, with ‘legality connectors’ from the rear elements of the FW to the end-plate (similar in concept to what AMG have done). Big outwash!!

The ramp pinches inwards towards the rear more on the rb19. Probably trying to feed more air up towards the beam wing rather than around the diffuser
Also, the undercut continues for the full length of the pod (last year was more of a fillet).

Indeed. This + the ramp pinching inboard at the end: probably trying to achieve some inwash around the side of the sidepod undercut, ferrari-style

So they clearly went for evolution rather than revolution, what makes perfect sense. What does not make sense Was this extreme hide-out game.

We've seen these or similar beam wings last year, but only on high-downforce tracks. Rear wing also looks a bit too much for Bahrain, good to see even RB is testing all sorts of things.

And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Well, it worked for them last year, and if anything it makes people more interested in seeing the car.
Also, if you think about it, if you have dramatic changes it makes sense to show them as late as possible so there’s less time for copying, but if you don’t have any radical changes and still wait until the last moment to show the car, it makes people expect something radical and confuses them nonetheless

Mirrors are very simple. I expect this is something that isn't race ready? RB have usually had quite advanced mirror housing

the inlet scoop + mirror supports are also the same or almost the same as last year. Strange

Looks like they're running slight rake on the video feed, would be nice to see some good track side shots.

My take:

-They have the small winglets on the inside of the endplates on the frontwing too
-I'll eat my shoe if those are the race mirrors
-Strange hatch below the mirror mount with a small vent in it
-Totally original take on the floor edge wing, lookst very well thought out
-That bodywork is a patchjob. We are not seeing the final version right now
-Not the inboard loaded FW we thought we saw on the shakedown video
-New front suspension
-Besides the lower SIS bulge there is a second dicontinuity in the undercut just behind
-Just behind the small aero rake where the sidepod pinches there is a very small vent in the bodywork, very elongated.

I love their approach. It emminates confidence. Just imagine what resources they might have spared they can dedicate to the '24 car...
