Absolute turd of a season. Thought last year was bad, but F1 dropping an awfully bad stinker this year. Tight Imola, and the borefests of Barcelona & Monaco to come. I know the RB is dominant, but it really is an awfully bad calendar, especially in terms of the quality of tracks. Uninspiring. Uneventful. Dire

Couldn’t have put it better myself.

The dominance is one thing, but can happen regularly in each era of tech regs so is not new.

The worst part of all is watching these massive boat-sized cars looking clumsy and unresponsive under ground effect regs, the pathetic FOM TV coverage zooming in on sponsors gives us zero feeling of true speed or sound, a total lack of testing time for anyone to truly catch up to the front runners in development, and last but not least the pathetic DRS-laden, push button overtake era that has destroyed the art of defending as a car in front.

I’m totally disillusioned with it - I don’t think we’ve changed for the better at all.

Feel like yesterday the TV direction kinda let down the race a bit. There was quite a few instances where overtakes were happening in the background of shots

Did you say the same thing back then when Mercedes were on the podium time after time after time for several years
with an 1 - 2 and the atmosphere after the race in the cooldown room was horrible?!
Yesterday I enjoyed all the overtaking action throughout the field of many drivers and the relaxed, respectful , friendly atmosphere
in the cooldown room and great, festive atmosphere on the podium with overjoyed podium drivers. Alonso enjoyed the most!

Well, obviously. If you think dominant seasons are dull, why would I not think other dominant seasons are dull.

Though, the Rosberg vs Hamilton battles had sone spice, and that time Ferrari got involved for a bit was good. Even when Vetel and Webber had a ding done was decent.

Not much excitement there, either. Alonso usually bags third, Ferrari are crap, and then it’s just the snail Mercedes picking up any pieces. Stroll nowhere. McLaren nowhere. As for the rest, very little happening.

Choice is simple really. Stop watching what you don't like, moreso when you have no control over proceedings. Come back when things are to one's liking.

I will always watch it, because that's the thing with live sport, you aren't always sure what will happen. Even if you think you know.

Then at the end of the race or event, you can decide if it was dull or not. Yesterday was not overly exciting. But tge strategy didn't really help, you either went long first or second. And everyone did 1 stop.

Seems to have confused the red bull team too, as they said they expected both their cars to be together with 3 laps remaining.

If thats what RB predicted, then their simulations are near enough scary accurate.

I thought they might box him after 35 or 37 laps as it was enough margin to get by Perez in 2 or 3 laps. It appeared they wanted to see if Max can overtake Perez in pits to avoid a face off. But Perez started pushing and their times stabilized to be almost equal. If they would have boxed Max by lap 40, he would have still breezed past Perez in quick time and would have finished with a bigger margin.

Yeah, Max was closing the gap down quite a bit. Was down to +1.2 seconds at one point. I really thought they were going to extend and drop him onto the soft tyres with ~10 laps to go.
