As a spanish I am, I have to say: Don't mistake Fred(eric) for Ferd(inand) [Fernando].

It is hard to believe that if the Honda partnership materializes Alonso will be still there. I cannot imagine Honda ever forgetting being kicked in the balls when it was down.KimiRai wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 14:24The writing was on the wall long ago.Snorked wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 11:36Aston Martin and Honda to announce partnership tomorrow according to - https://www.gazzetta.it/Formula-1/23-05 ... 2026.shtml
And as I said before, knowing Fernando I'm sure he supports this, contrary to what most people think. He will be interested in the 2026 regulations and be there in case Aston nails them... plus he will likely want to win the Indy 500 in the future.
There was someone in here a few pages ago that was harassing anyone that said Honda partnering with AMR was realistic.KimiRai wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 14:24The writing was on the wall long ago.Snorked wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 11:36Aston Martin and Honda to announce partnership tomorrow according to - https://www.gazzetta.it/Formula-1/23-05 ... 2026.shtml

Alonso staying until 2026 at least, I'd be extremely surprised he isn't at least a little bit interested in the new regs. Plus potentially winning a championship with his age in modern F1 is also something unprecedented, and someone like him would love that challenge. IF he wins it though then the chances of him retiring skyrocket in my opinion (he has mentioned leaving with a smile).
Honda doesn't have better options at this time.KimiRai wrote: ↑23 May 2023, 22:59Alonso staying until 2026 at least, I'd be extremely surprised he isn't at least a little bit interested in the new regs. Fernando loves Japan and Japanese culture, but he has had quite a lot of bad luck with anything Japanese except Toyota. Honda side time heals all.
