Ferrari SF23

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

It looks to me that the louvers are falling off quite dramatically, I recall them being more parallel. The louver bulge also seems to be stretched downwards. Along with the small cannon exit, I'm guessing its going to be closer to the AM/Alpine interpretation.

It's clear here how the sidepods join the floor remaining more external till the end of the floor itself.
No more or very reduced coca-cola area compared to old spec.
No more mouse holes on the diffuser sides?
I cannot see them either. That's a big departure.

The angle of the shot does not allow to see if they're still there.

Looks like the bathtubs are gone and like the top is completely straight.... in no way like Red Bull, at least as far as you can tell at the moment, which would be welcome because I would be happy if not all cars become too similar.
But maybe the angle is deceiving and you just can't see the downwashing part.

I think there is still a "channel" that lies further inboard. Potentially a little bit like an Alpine spec from last year:

Same photo as above, but less watermarks. Better look at the very complex Halo winglets. Sidepods-engine cover transition looks strange, almost like there's more going on on the very inside. Could be just the angle.

Sides themselves and the rear part of the floor look very basic, which is not so surprising as they are setting up a new benchmark before deciding which development direction they take. The fact they will run both configurations in parallel does not sound so good. Means they are not completely sure if it will be an improvement or not.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Something strange about the top of the sidepod, I don't think were seeing the full picture here the transition in bodywork looks off from this angle. I'm going to predict a very narrow but deep gulley on the inside

I think that the downwhashing part will start at the end of the sidepods and will consequently be rather steep.

I wonder what that minimal change to the mirror cover is for.

Maybe it interacts better with the new sidepod?

It's the angle of the shot that hides them. The beginning of the diffuser, where they are, is hidden.

Rear brakes cooling inlets also different (without the "curl") but this was already in Monaco.
