That 18.6 at the end of a 10 lap soft stint (iirc) is ominous for a lack of a better termXyz22 wrote: ↑02 Jun 2023, 18:28https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FxoWrJnXsAI ... name=large

The RB19 is in a completely different league. Not surprising.CaribouBread wrote: ↑02 Jun 2023, 18:33That 18.6 at the end of a 10 lap soft stint (iirc) is ominous for a lack of a better termXyz22 wrote: ↑02 Jun 2023, 18:28https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FxoWrJnXsAI ... name=large

degradation looks alright, which is a positive indeed. Pace looks about equal with Mercedes, I would say, if you take the fuel effect into account. Sainz burned 13 laps of fuel already before switching to Softs, Leclerc 8.organic wrote: ↑02 Jun 2023, 18:58This graph has the outliers removed, so a bit clearer how the laptimes evolved. Box plot shows how Ferrari are much improved here in terms of long run pace.

They're loaded with fuel I think, more-so what others. No way they're lifting in quali, might as well go home.Xyz22 wrote: ↑02 Jun 2023, 19:24https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FxocdOiWIAU ... name=large
Leclerc has to lift in turn 3?
Ferrari isn't running their high downforce wing here. I'm seeing bigger lifts in T3 and T9 in the telemetry compared to the F1-75.Juzh wrote: ↑02 Jun 2023, 20:31They're loaded with fuel I think, more-so what others. Compared to what F1-75 session? Also, temperature, wind?AR3-GP wrote: ↑02 Jun 2023, 20:42Ferrari isn't running their high downforce wing here. If the fuel load is the same this is embarrassing.AR3-GP wrote: ↑02 Jun 2023, 20:59
It's never going to be a like for like comparison of course
I think qualifying is the only time you can compare, because that’s the only time you know they're actually trying, the PU’s are cranked up, and the fuel loads are low.AR3-GP wrote: ↑02 Jun 2023, 20:59

Normally it can be difficult to compare, but there's an odd bit in the data that is worth attempting to reconcile. The SF23 is carrying a lot more speed through Apex in places like T4, T7, T10 than F1-75, yet the SF23 is taking much bigger lifts in T3 and T9. How can both of these things happen at the same time?Hoffman900 wrote: ↑02 Jun 2023, 21:04I think qualifying is the only time you can compare, because that’s the only time you know they're actually trying, the PU’s are cranked up, and the fuel loads are low.
Hard to read into sessions that are glorified testing programs.
1) They’re sand bagging or at least just not putting wear on the car. There are two spec SF-23’s in this session. Also Charles was running the test tire for a chunk of it. It was a testing session.AR3-GP wrote: ↑02 Jun 2023, 21:07Normally it can be difficult to compare, but there's an odd bit in the data that is worth attempting to reconcile.
