Re: Kimi leaving Ferrari?

could it be possible if they are considering a 3rd car?
i mean even rossi has considered the possiblity with Ferrari so why not Alonso.
Like it or not Raikkonen has deliverd in Ferrari and they picked him rather than Alonso all the way back in 2005, its unlike Ferrari to all of a sudden jump to Alonso, if they already signed Alonso that means its since 2008, likely but far fetched.
and "dangerous activities" is more like bikes rather than rallies?

Kimi driving a Punto Rally car is a very clear hint that Ferrari are not really in need of his services in F1. They have said that they will drop development on the F60 soon which probably means no improvements after Monza.

The Alonso announcement is only a formality it appears and so Ferrari are set to run Alonso/Massa next year. It is obvious that making money with monkey business is not Kimi's intention. So he will go off and have fun. I hope he has a good investment consultant but even a mediocre banker will keep him in bread and drink with the money he made in F1.

Have Ferrari really got good bang for their bucks out of Kimi? I doubt it. Will the Tifosi ever be mad for him in 10 years? I think not.

Alonso @ Ferrari will be a nice opportunity for Rossi to pull Alonso's leg about his braggings re MotoGP bikes and how easy they are. I would love to see the two fighting it out in equal 2 and 4 wheel equippment.

Ferrari could be back to the top next year. From the former top teams they ahve best coped with the DDD fiasco. From this years winners Red Bull look to be fast on merit. So perhaps next years championship can shape up Alonso/Ferrari vs Vettel/Red Bull. I would like to see that and of course this time I would not cheer for the reds.

I don't see why this would happen, after all Kimi has a contract to the end of 2010 at Ferrari, I don't know why he wouldn't see the contract out, nor do I see a reason Ferrari wouldn't want him to see it out. Sure he hasn't exactly put in stellar performances latley, but I guess neither has Massa, and the F60 is obviously not the class of the feild.

Perhaps its more a question of what Kimi wants to do. He has been interviewed quite a few times with questions like "people question your commitment" or "people suggest you will leave F1 next year". Kimi is always quick to discount questions like that, "sometimes people like to talk ---" I think is what he said to an Australian TV presenter when asked a question like that.

What ever it is that other people are seeing, I don't see it. I think that Kimi probably will race rally cars one day, but not next year. Maybe not even the year after that. I don't see how any driver could get sick of the challenge of trying to win Grands Prix, no matter how fed up with the media, politics, and corprate team obligations they are.

i want to see kimi-alonso line up for at least a year, i still believe that Massa dont deserve to b a ferrari driver...there are many drivers in the field who are far better than massa.

I thought there is no driver at Ferrari who is better than Massa considering the scores of the last 18 month. Ferrari are 4. in the constructors championship. Massa is punching above his weight on 6. of the drivers. When you check out the front page Kimi is not even on the same page of the drivers standing.

Hard to justify that comment - 2/3 years ago I would have wondered how good Massa was. Now, I believe he has become a very strong driver. He's delivering right now. Sad to say Kimi isn't.

I cannot see Kimi remaining in F1 - his heart doesn't seem to be there anymore; which is a shame as he could have been one of the more exciting drivers around.

I'll just add my vote to those who have already commented: you are wrong.

Exactly. Always pleasure to look at Massa as he is capable of improving and getting job done.
I highly respect Kimi too, but he seems a bit dishearten in F1 these days.

I'm of a similar opinion.

If Ferrari really believed Kimi was not motivated they would get rid ASAP.

In the media and the press there always seems to be a necessity to label one person within a particular sport as 'the lazy one', or the 'unfulfilled talent'. It helps generate stories for them.

I just can't see A) why Ferrari would keep an 'unmotivated' Kimi, B) Why Kimi, who is known not to really care about what people think, and surely would have no reservations about leaving F1 if he wanted to, and C) How Kimi could drive through a GP weekend and the continuing sponsor duties if he wasn't motivated. You're going around at 200MPH, could you get away with just not caring? In my opinion, no.

I felt so bad for Massa when he won his first GP and said "sorry for Michael" over the radio. I think given a competitive car he could go out and win a championship right now. He would've been world champion last year if not for Glock running wide in the last corner OR blowing up while leading with three laps to go (forget which one that was). He's still got time to win a championship and as much as I'd love to see Alonso thrive at Ferrari, I always like seeing Massa succeed. It's been said earlier on this thread too that Kimi seems non-plussed by his bad season while Massa's throwing a sh*tfit over a visor.

I think the next logical question is: How will Massa and Alonso get along? What kind of championship scenario would see team orders be made? Will they share set-up information? Will the press exaggerate stories about relations between them?

Personally, if i was to choose between Alonso with Kimi or Massa. Id go Massa all the way, they wee guy has the right atitude for me. He dosnt get a ice cream whilst all the other guys are still in their cars talking about race conditions. Massa is a fine wine that has improved with age, where i feel tah Kimi has just lost the plot now. He needs to be given a shot in the arm, but i think he is now wanting to try WRC now, whitch could mean that he is entred in a FIAT WRC team next year.

Massa it is for me. I like him, where as Kimi just dosnt give the right attitude for me.

If Massa leaves Ferrari, i can see him going to STR with Buemi, as Ferrari could want him back for 2010.

Correct me if I'm wrong, and I often am, but isn't STR supposed to be a B-team to RBR, where they bring up promising young talent? If so, bringing Massa onboard would be terribly contrary to that purpose, wouldn't it?

the whole ice cream incident was already explained.....but if you are gonna bring that as a valid argument against Kimi, then you really need to check your bias at the door.

I think you both have got me there. STR is ment to be a supply route to RBR, but i think there could be a seat here for Massa for a year, and since STR is going to be a full constructor next year, that could be a bought seat from Ferrari. And ill make no bees about it, i am a Massa fan, him and alonso are my sort of driver, they leave it all out on the track, and thats what i like. I amnt fully sold on Kimi, never have and never will be, not shure about the guy some how. Maybes its the Iceman thing.
