Sure he hasn't exactly put in stellar performances latley, but I guess neither has Massa, and the F60 is obviously not the class of the feild.
Perhaps its more a question of what Kimi wants to do. He has been interviewed quite a few times with questions like "people question your commitment" or "people suggest you will leave F1 next year". Kimi is always quick to discount questions like that, "sometimes people like to talk ---" I think is what he said to an Australian TV presenter when asked a question like that.
What ever it is that other people are seeing, I don't see it. I think that Kimi probably will race rally cars one day, but not next year. Maybe not even the year after that. I don't see how any driver could get sick of the challenge of trying to win Grands Prix, no matter how fed up with the media, politics, and corprate team obligations they are.
I'm of a similar opinion.
If Ferrari really believed Kimi was not motivated they would get rid ASAP.
In the media and the press there always seems to be a necessity to label one person within a particular sport as 'the lazy one', or the 'unfulfilled talent'. It helps generate stories for them.
I just can't see A) why Ferrari would keep an 'unmotivated' Kimi, B) Why Kimi, who is known not to really care about what people think, and surely would have no reservations about leaving F1 if he wanted to, and C) How Kimi could drive through a GP weekend and the continuing sponsor duties if he wasn't motivated. You're going around at 200MPH, could you get away with just not caring? In my opinion, no.
