The benefits would be that the softer option tire would be more than just a qual tire and the prime the race tire for most races, thus giving more race strategies.

If you take the benefit of using the option in qual then you must take the penalty of starting on it in the race... just like low fueling in Q3 to get up high and then having to pit early

that is not yet confirmed... i think the teams and most of the drivers want them to stay... i hop they get rid of em
Actually Tyre warmers were in the same package as refuelling. They are part of the official FOTA cost reduction proposal and there are no objections from the FIA that I know of. So one has to assume that it will be done this time.

I'm not so mad for passing in the pit lane. It would be better if the teams continue to work on better passing from the aero side as Theissen suggested. They could ban the DDDs and allow unlimited front wing adjustment.

agree... rear wing adjustments would be cool too... actually if they re-allowed the rear wheel flick ups I think that would go a long way to reducing the turbulence behind the cars and help promote closer racing.

Rear wing adjustments will increase turbulence for a following car in the braking zones and in the corners.
Cool yes, but good for racing, I think not.
Of note are the tyre choices Bridgstone has planned for the next 4 events. Looks like only one step between the "Hard and the Soft".
Should be good for Braun if either the weather is warm or they have addressed some of their heat-in-the-tyres issues. Both I suspect.
Just can't wait to be setting the alarm for 4:30 in the morning.
Too bad we didn't get our act together for the Vancouver early morning breakfast race days.

Is there a limit to the size of the fuel tank in this year's cars. If there isn't it would be a perfect way for the teams to test the basic designs for next year. Would you not require the balance of the car to be very different? I think a hefty amount of jiggery pokery is going to be required to get 180L (?) to fit between the driver and the engine.
