I recall a bit of ruffled feathers last season over talk of eliminating the break.

I dunno...it seems even if there is a break, most of the teams go and do SOMETHING anyhow - Like goodwood this year.

I'd almost say ditch it, you could theoretically add another event to the calendar and only push the end of season back another week, using the one week racing, one week off model.

I think it's something appreciated more by the mechanics and support crews for the teams. It's got to be pretty rough packing and unpacking all that stuff, week after week, month after month. But for the fans, well... I'm feeling F1 withdrawl symptoms as we speak.

You know, that's absolutely understandable...coaching a winter sport has me on the road every weekend all winter long, and by the end of season, I'm ready to lose my marbles...so yeah, I can totally understand that feeling.

Most sports take a break mid season, and it's usually tied in to the all star game for the sport.

This is the equivalent of the all star break, and the all star game is Goodwood :)

Most of the drivers have media stuff to do anyways during this time and they don't nearly the time off you would think they deserve.
Before I do anything I ask myself “Would an idiot do that?” And if the answer is yes, I do not do that thing. - Dwight Schrute
