This is why you never play frisbee with the steering wheel before installation.

Fernando and Sergio had consistent pace and were the quickest in the race sim. Ferrari didn't have consistent pace while they started faster than others. Then it was Mercedes drivers and then Max.

I mean we could add the pitstop time to aggregate....

Overall the picture is still murky. FP3 might give a clearer indication especially if they run same compounds.

Major balance issues.. smells like TD has hit RB here

Leclerc pole and win is my prediction.

Without knowing everything going on here I would tend to agree with you.

RBR is running more DF than Ferrari and they are paying top speed, even more so under DRS. I've never seen that, it's the opposite of what happened in the past 2 years.

Tbf their Friday engine modes have been very low since Hungary. Losing time on every straight to Ferrari even well before the end of the straight.. I think they're trying to avoid taking engine penalties

If you see the time loss traces relative to Ferrari, it's not like they're losing more time at the end of the straight.. it's like a continuous loss along the straight

This my interpretation anyway. Especially after what we saw at Monza, Zandvoort, Hungary etc

Bingo!

I mean I don't think this is entirely the case, but given the near 0.5 second relative loss in the little race pace data we have (singapore)from circuit to circuit..... it suggests more than just track variation or surface.

The race pace of RB looked fine from what I saw in long run data? Checo was the quickest on mediums iirc

Without the margins they had in other races.

Besides, I don't think they're in any bother...doesn't always work out on fridays.

Yea they were 6 tenths back in Hungary in FP2 and the race pace didn't look strong

Then they won by 30s+. But there are many indications it will be closely fought

Singapore was cited as their worst track. Something that would hit all of the weaknesses of the RB19. Kerb compliance, tire warmup, etc etc.

Mercedes had a similar 1 race fall from grace in 2015 that had nothing to do with regulations changes. Singapore may well just be the bogey track. It's not the first time.

That may be true in the big DRS straight but it's not true in the non DRS straight after T14. furthermore RBR has always gained at the end of the straight against Ferrari, so even just them not doing it is news to me.

Anyone looked at the telemetry for these sessions yet?

I missed both FP's today as didnt bother taking laptop to work, but will catch up later. But quickly choosing Sainz, Lec, Max fastest laps from FP2 shows the RB running a lot less engine. Can see the differences from around 230kmh on the graphs.
