You're arguing in bad faith. As Ringo has said he was aiming at the next apex. Meaning he would have taken the corner but due to Russell being on his line and avoiding a collision he took to the run off so of course "he didn't make the corner"
They're very much in total race management, as has typically been the case for any team running near the front at Singapore for several years now. They all could run much faster at the start if they wanted, but they choose not to usually in order to extend the stint on the tyres and hold the pack up... if anybody was to pit behind, they'd almost certainly get stuck in traffic and they'd loose time.
