According to some of the comments Fred has made, it seems they understand the issue and believe they can solve some of it before tomorrow.

Let's see

That's a very extreme understeer on a light car, I would hope it's just bad setup, that corner shouldn't pose difficulty for Ferrari even in these conditions.

But yeah, today was worse than I had hoped :/.

Yeah it must be also tyre related because that is simply insane.

Fred said they had some issues in turn 12-13 that they can fix for tomorrow.

Gear issue or problem for Leclerc costing 1-2 tenths here?

The translation:
in which he downshifted from sixth to 12th
That is definitely a problem...

Vasseur did say in an interview that they had an issue in T13 that they know (hopefully) how to solve overnight (no idea how).

haha, the translation is off :).

The problem/error (I didn't understand it) from #Leclerc in his last Q3 attempt, in which he downshifted from 6th in T12 (while always on 7th in the other attempts). In that point lost about 0.140, maybe 0.2 with a bit of follow on [consequences].

Look at the understeer in the first corner. Jesus christ this is something else.
It's worse than that, it's understeer into oversteer. :D
Genuinely the worst chassis Ferrari have produced since early-season F2012.

And it's not like in prior sprint weekends where they at least were on top of setup straight away and their competition wasn't. From the looks of it, we'll be fighting Alpine come race day.

Horrible...

they definitely need a brand new chassis/suspension for the next one if they want to get rid of this ugly understeer

I just saw the entire session on Sky Italy and the technical commentator (Bobbi, ex GT driver) compared Max and Leclerc laps. The SF 23 has absolutely 0 front end.

I think there are no people left who don’t already know that the SF-23 has a weak front end. It’s an inherent problem of the car and it won’t be solved until next season.

Besides that, I’m pretty sure that the issues got worse today because of setup difficulties coupled with the wind sensitivity the car has.

Shades of Zandvoort form. The rear is all over the place.

Today the car was better I think, the big gap at the end of sq3 was massive understeer in the last corner by lec which was similar to how nor approached the corner.

They probably could have gotten the car into a better place with more free practice.

Not challenging RB or Mclaren, but at least not wanting to swap ends every other corner.
