Silly of Mercedes to not say give Lewis the priority in any situation at the start.

Why start one of your cars on soft and not maximise that. He could have got in front of Max and controlled it for a little while.
Hamilton was on softs. Could have worked out if he did not crash.

Just another lost opportunity. Lewis has himself to blame, though it is a racing incident.
For Sure!!

Norris can maybe still make the race interesting.

I don't think Russell should've fight Lewis on soft tyre on that one... even if Lewis should've open the trajectory more

It's similar to that Spa incident with Alonso last year.
Agreed. Lewis needs to improve his quali form and has also forgetten where to place the rear of his car now. Dude needs to wake up a bit as he's making the same mistakes.
I agree. I think he still gets flashes of desperation, especially if he sees a slower car between him and P-1.
It maybe was an all or nothing move. Stay behind russel and Max wins... no point.
Or take a chance and maybe give max a fight..
He really loses nothing by crashing out.
For Sure!!

Tbh if Lewis also took out George in the process, that isn't a racing incident, don't care if that's lap 1 or teammates, it's just amateurish and not respectful racing.

You’d think it would have been in George’s mind that Hamilton would be starting quickly on the softs. It was likely he’d be alongside pretty soon.

Their inability to give Lewis the first driver status over Russel is still a mystery to me.

George's mentality of beating Lewis no matter what is affecting him too. Tyre deltas are massive at this track and Lewis was on a totally different strategy that could've held up Max once th3 softs started to drop off. Instead he moved across and almost made contact with Lewis as he was passing him and fought Leeis for no reason.

Lewis definitely messed up, but when you ask why George was fighting hin so much, what's the actual good answer here?

What happened to Sainz??
Didn't start - he had a fuel leak just before the race, no time to fix.

Surely the team should have had the talk that as they were faster than the Ferrari's they could get some daylight between them in the constructors, especially with Sainz not starting the race. All these realisations just makes its so obvious how stupid and unnecessary this collision was

Reminds me of Brazil 2019 Vettel anf Leclerc. Hamilton is making a lot of mistakes.

Looked to me like Hamilton blocked Russel at start - then Russel forced his way through but Hamilton cut him off.

They should have talked about it before the race and Russel should have conceded to Hamilton as he was starting on softs.

The fact that Hamilton was on softs and likely to get a rocket start sounds worthy of a team discussion imo.

Still made less mistakes than George has, hence the positions in the championship.. not remotely like lec vs vet
