Oh wow, it seems there was a conflict with the regulations after all!

Read the wording.

"Any part of the tyre of a car exiting the pitlane must not cross any line painted on the track for the purpose of separating the cars leaving the pitlane from those on track."

Theres a barrier on the pit exit so thats separating the cars.

I mean, you could use the same principle for those cars cutting into the green painted sections on the pit entry too.

Because nothing happened that is in conflict with the regulations. White flags are not yellow flags. You're no obliged to slow down on a white flag.

Had there been a collision, the white flag would likely be a contributing factor regarding who is at fault though.

Whats going on? Are we waiting for Alonso’s car to be read or what?
Tire wall repair I think.

I wouldn't think this is a "line painted on the track for the purpose of separating cars leaving the pit lane from those on the track", though? Imo the rule refers to cars crossing the line when entering the track.

Ocon was full right lock about 1.5 car lengths behind Alonso. He was never going to make that corner. Alonso was just unfortunately in the wrong place.

Pause the video I posted at the full right lock and see the positions of both cars.
that idiot (since he himself thinks its fine to call others that) will probably claim Alonso deliberately interfered and he lost some DF due to dirty air or something, which caused him to oversteer (because he had too little sense to read the situation and adapt)

4. Entrance to the pit lane

d) Except in cases of force majeure (accepted as such by the Stewards), or unless otherwise defined by the Race Director, if appointed, or Clerk of the Course, any part of a tyre of a car entering the pit lane must not cross, in any
direction, any line painted on the track for the purpose of separating cars entering the pit lane from those on the track. For the avoidance of doubt, crossing means that the outside of any tyre should not go beyond the outside, with respect to the pit lane, of the relevant line painted on the track.

Lets stop them cutting the green section aswell? I wonder how many penalties our experts can hand out for that

This time after the SQ1 we have all the drivers within 8 tenths!
Is this the closest time set ever?

I don`t understand why it is so difficult to schedule a Sprint race weekend!
You have to do the same things as they normal do on race weekend and then make minimal changes such as:

- On Friday: the same FP1&FP2 sessions as usual.
- On Saturday: the same FP3 but then do SQualy instead of qualy for the race, followed by the Sprint race after a couple of hours.
- On Sunday: they could work overnight further on the cars, then do the normal qualy for the race, followed by the main race after some 3 or 4 hours ...

If I was FIA/Liberty media I`d make further changes if they are into increasing the show for us die-hard fans and grabbing the young audience:

- On Saturday evening do an SIM race with all the drivers with the actual SQ times they set in the afternoon.
- Close action drones on the Sprint race and main race to see the main battles between the main contenders. They used a helicopter cam on a certain race that I do not remember now but the show could be much more improved and paradoxically the costs could be lowered this way ...

Norris had a massive wobble there in turn 3. Cost him at least 2 tenths, I think

Perez seems to have a good car this weekend, and in mexico. Looks better than the Merc which goes well for the WDC for Perez
