I think the flexi floor ban had a much bigger impact
F1-75 was so good in the 1st half of the season because it was bouncing a lot without hitting the ground (too) hard, running as low as possible and allowing softer suspension than some other cars. In Spa and later they had to run the car higher to reduce bouncing amplitude because of TD39 and this most likely also threw suspension outside the operating window. All the outright tyre window issues in a race came in the second part of the season.

Flexy floor is just a myth
Wasn't the running lower without losing performance an effect of flexi floor?

Just listen at these two videos in Australia. Does Ferrari even scrape the ground in the back flat section (open at 0:49)?

Now compare that to Mercedes, you can here massive hitting and scraping even with two commentators speaking loudly

Which of these two cars would have a bigger issue with plank wear?
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

If the mistake by Lerclerc was the thing that prevented him from doing the same, Sainz should have shown some magic improvement, but he didn't, either.
Has Piastri demonstrated a similar thing like Lando? What does Charles pace have to do with Carlos?
He clearly couldn't unlock the potential of a SF 24 2.0 like Charles did in Imola.
FORZA FERRARI!

Piastri used up his tires early in the Hard stint trying to clear SAI and trying to catch up to LEC. So couldn't pull away later like nor

Can someone technically minded help it make sense to me…

Ferrari looks quick, and Charles in particular has been speaking confidently about their chances this weekend… but Ferrari have been suffering in traction and low speed all season? Which is all this track is… how are they fast?

Monaco is unique as the aero and mechanical setups are specific for its extreme layout. The SF 21 was a garbage car overall, yet competitive for top 3 in Monaco.

Dominant Ferrari cars were often slower than the competition back in the early 2000.

I think is going be very very close in Q3. The others usually improve more than Ferrari.

I wouldn't say suffering per se. They just have to make a compromise between how soft they run for slow speed and how stiff they run for high speed, right now they choose to go a little stiffer and it costs them more in slow speed. Here they can go softer because there are no real high speed corners

Yeah but I’m asking, technically, how? lol. Like how… if traction is bad (as has been demonstrated) and low speed is mid (as has been demonstrated) what do they do to come here and be super quick? Just run super soft suspension? Like I’m genuinely curious.

Maybe their approach with center of gravity also has a significant impact? I have no idea as well.

Last year also Alpine was mega quick :D Maybe because aero efficiency is not a factor, as mentioned previously by Brandon.

Ferrari are always looking good in FP1, even last year. Others are yet to find proper setup most likely. Lets wait until Q3 before we draw conclusions. :)

Of course, this is true and an important disclaimer. I’m not suggesting they’re going to win (yet), but they unquestionably have speed. Just found it very interesting given the SF-24’s relative performance in this type of circuit characteristics. I commented on twitter last week that Monaco would be a bloodbath for us. Seems to not be the case.
