Looks like Charles has felt confidence in the car after the updates and the bison mod is back, so far it's very impressive.Stunning.
This is something Imola didn't prepare me for. :D

Long run for Charles was poor. Lots of traffic and Perez backed everyone up. However, Charles was not happy after the flag so might be a set up issue rather than traffic. Carlos' pace looked good.

add - Charles mentioned that they used the mediums hard in the initial run (pre quali sim) that may have caused issues for the later long run.

Just said something on the radio about the tyres being absolutely gone because of the fast laps they did in the earlier part of the session

Charles was lifting/hitting the traffic in S3 on multiple laps. Look at the sector times, his S3 time fluctuatures a lot.

I hope they dont change stuff in the wrong direction and kill some of this phenomenal 1-lap pace.

If he ends up P1, it literally doesn't matter what anyone behind has in race pace. He can just go 2-3 seconds slower than he could if he really needed it to protect the tires.

Fair but his S1-S2 sector times weren't spectacular. He said disaster himself over the radio. Didn't over complain on traffic he seemed to think it was setup or tire issue.

Have to see what F1 tempo spits out, to really judge the sector times.

100% a tyre issue, I think this was the same tyre he did the fast laps at the beginning of the session with. Sainz didn't take as much out of the tyre in the fast laps and hit 15.1, not too worried tbh

Heard that, added to the initial post. Hopefully he doesn't have to tune out his one lap pace for race pace.

Who cares about long runs, lmao.

The only important thing in Monaco is track position. Undercutting / overcutting is complex due to the switch to hard tyres which are not superfast in the outlap.

What may be the starting tyres for the race and pitstop strategy?

Charles was very slow, it would put him into undercut range if that was at all representative

Charles could have made 1.10 if there was no error or no traffic. Holy.
1.10.3 target for Q3

When you are ahead, you can pace yourself and have better tyre life when you need it.

Only q matters here. LEC starts 1st and then, like in Singapore, he can take it easy for 15 laps and then push like a mad man for another 15 before pitting and he would be well ahead.
