WCC points after 8 races:

2004 - 300 (latest points system)

2006 - 185 (latest points system)

2007 - 222 (latest points system)

2008 - 225 (latest points system)

2017 - 226

2022- 199 (I made a mistake posting 209 after race 7)

2024 - 252

So as crazy as this looks and sounds, 2024 is now definitely going better for Ferrari than any other season since 2004 (so far Sprints were worth 20p in 2024, less than the gap to 2017 WCC points). 2006-2008 had strong finishes, but I will keep only 2007 (most WCC points of the 3 in the end) included so we can have a direct comparison. I am not sure we are understanding the magnitude of these results for Ferrari and also the level at which RB is still at to have such a lead in WCC and WDC with a very unfortunate DNF in Australia.

2022 is now well behind in every way, especially since both seasons saw 2 wins in first 8 races, but I will keep it included until the gap is bigger than 100p just to give some recent reference to 2024 season. Leclerc and Sainz are doing a mega job on track and everyone in Maranello is doing a mega job on the car, strategies and operations. A true modern and professional F1 racing team!
The downside is if they dont get the constructors this year.. 2024 will set a high bar for 2025 and anything less than 2024 in 2025 results will be seen as a relapse. Vasseur has manage this well. Also even with Hamilton, he can marginally do better than Sainz if Redbull are still the best and Mclaren are solid 2nd best.
Sainz is pretty close to Charles. Lewis at worst will be as close as he is to George now, with both cars finishing one behind the other.
For Sure!!

Not really, no one is looking at these results like the comparisons I'm making. Every season starts with 0 points for everyone and everyone's results are only as good as competition allows them to be. RBR and Max give nothing for free, but like I said elsewhere - WCC is just a consolation prize if you lose WDC. Of course Ferrari will gladly take it after 16 long years, but it will still be a consolation prize. :)
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Great job by Ferrari, Charles and everyone, the factory as well for producing updates that work

Man Sainz got insanely lucky. Also did a great job helping the team there, so gotta appreciate that.

But yea, first real win on merit feels great to me. Leclerc earned that one. Not getting overhyped on WCC, but team has done an amazing job this season all around regardless.

The Team hasn't been perfect this year but quite close. No major mistakes, which is what we wanted to see after 2022 and some races in 2023 (which were really difficult due to a terrible car).
Huge improvement, and now they must keep working like this to improve even more.

Agree. In my opinion, the only small mistake was not to try the undercut on Norris in Imola. Also the drivers are really consistent this year, Leclerc and Sainz always finished in the top 5 so far

Lucky with Zhou not crossing S1 line before red flag and terribly unlucky with getting a puncture from such a tiny touch with Piastri in the first place, if we are honest.

Is that a... Is that really a... No, it can't be. No way you are feeling positive of Ferrari in any way

I can't overstate how important this win could end up being for Charles psychologically. I expect find to find another gear not necessarily in terms of speed, but in terms of confidence in his team and himself. The trials of last two years seem to be finally coming to an end; he was so close to a win multiple times over the last two years, yet something went wrong every time. Coming up repeatedly short couldn't have been healthy.

No question I’m happy to have woken up at 6am on a long weekend sunday to watch it. Big rock from his back but the big boulder for Ferrari is WDC.

Had you been a fan of any other team, this race would've put you back to sleep in no time

Sure, I wouldn't have blamed him for the incident even if he was simply out or had to start from the back, but still, once it happened, it really felt over for his weekend and that Leclerc would be out there on an island trying to fend off two fast Mclarens with options.
