This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
Qualifying in Bahrain 2026 will show who's right. Until then, no one knows.
People dnt respect merc much bit they are top team and getting on top of things so far looks like alonso made a mistake ( i am 90% sure on this, aston leadership is bunch of bafoons soon to be fired , i admire stroll senior's patience with them )
Mclaren is exploring ways to get the Red Bull/Ford engine for 2026, it means they know something about the Mercedes engine....
In the paddock they say that Mercedes is very advanced for 2026. In my opinion Alonso preferred Aston Martin because he didn't want to do just one more year.

They say a lot of things. Aston already moved away from it. If also Mclaren leave that mean that there is an issue for sure. They know more than us. You cannot abandon the best engine for another one. Only the first GP in Australia will reveal the truth.

That’s a story that AMuS made because McLaren and Williams are mad because Mercedes‘ considers to supply Alpine. In their opinion 3 customer teams are too much for the beginning of the new regs, reliability concerns regarding PU parts.
Wolff confirmed alonso did not show interest in mercedes for 2025, looks like his big mistake one more time by saying no to merc and signing with aston

If we've learned anything from years 2023 and 2024 is any top team is only 1 or 2 upgrades from the middle of the pack.

That sounds like a bunch BS from McLaren and Williams. When AMR leave Merc, Merc may decide to taken on Alpine and keep all the same personnel. They may also decide to not take on Alpine and let 25% of the staff go... How are Williams and McLaren Ahead in that case?
I think the AM project to 2026 is a good promise. Aramco, Huge experience about "green fuel" , Honda proved they make a decent engine ( yeah a lot of people leaved there, but, the those Japaneses know what they do). The most modern factory and wind tunnel. Andy Cowell, Enrico Cardille, maybe Newey ( i hope so, but, i personally dont think Newey come to AM). Alonso have prestige on AM, Mercedes he will be just a star driver for 1 or 2 years. Alonso already said " Im staying here for a long time after i stop ". All thing looks nice to start an incredible 2026, BUT, AM needs to prove they can make theses a lot of pieces works togheter. Im anxious to see hungary performance and i hope they finally can find the right way about their upgrades. Will be unaceptable they still suffering in 2025 too.

In my opinion Aston left because they think that being a customer is a disadvantage compared to being the engine team. I don't know about the McLaren rumors, but I don't think they will leave Mercedes as i think they will the best engine

I think they're just in a massive hiring/structuring phase. Things will start to streamline. 2026 looks to be the year they are targeting for everything to be in place. With Honda they'll be in good hands for the engine, it's arguably the best all round unit on the field. They'll have the ICE down pat and their carbon nanotube energy store is state of the art. The ingredients for something special are circling in the pot over there.

In the first couple of years, being able to influence packaging and getting that packaging information before everyone else is an advantage. Question is does it outweigh the reliability loses when you're the only one running that PU.
