I don't think Ferrari will enjoy easy dominance, or anything close to that. One factor that is directly proportional to success is the budget. It takes money to go fast, and a lot more money to go faster.
I have heard that Ferrari can't expect the budget they enjoyed in the last few years. And with this year's dismal preformance, and the impending new V-8 rule, they have to budget for keeping the '05 effort respectable, as well as develop what is basically a new car. That takes a whole lot of money. One sign that Ferrari may be looking for extra cash is the just released news that Abu Dhabi paid Ferrari $138 million to secure a 5% interest in the company.

One question is whether Ferrari has given up on securing any titles, or if they even want to spend money on this year's budget, or to allocate it to the '06 buget.
And while this is going on in Ferrari, other teams like Toyota and Honda are probably going to take the '06 title seriously, and open up their wallets. And since Renault is enjoying success, they too will probably have a nice, healthy amount of cash to stay competitive.
Being competitive in racing is a race to stay ahead, or at least, keep up. Once you are behind the game, it is hard to catch up without extra effort.
And I honestly question whether Shu will stay after this season. He doesn't have many years remaining, and '06 is very questionable, I am sure Ferrari cannot guarantee him any kind of decent car, they can only shrug their shoulders and tell him, "We're doing the best we can".
