Palmer said during the race that Leclerc would have been the only one who could have put up a fight against Norris had he started up front.
Only p2, with good quali? I think the car and Charles could do better.

Palmer is right, but Ferrari sabotaged themselves in qualifying.

Quali is everything in this track.

Honestly I think even Carlos might have put RedBull under stress a bit with the threat of an undercut. They really got screwed hard by qualifying here.

These races would be better if there were enforced 2 stop minimum strategies and drivers were actually pushing. They’re all managing their tyres so much the race becomes a non event

Charles could have had P2 here with a better quali. Pace was really good on the hards.
Wasn’t he lapping basically as fast as Norris when he got clean air? I honestly think he could’ve brought the fight to him if he had started p2.

Good drive from Leclerc. Shame his lap was deleted, because I think he would have gotten at least a p3, probably p2 if he started ahead of the midfielders.
Yeah HUL really cost him 3rd today
That Hul-Alo-Lec train killed a podium, and Hulk created a huge gap to the leaders.

Leclerc's interview with Sky just now about Q3:

About yesterday, I want to say something more. Obviously, the tires weren't in the right temperature, but if I hadn't gone straight into T1 that would've helped a lot. It was my mistake, I wasn't clear yesterday and I didn't send the right message so I want to be clear now I was at fault too.
Vasseur also confirmed they are bringing upgrades to Austin.

Useless statements. Even if he didn't make the mistake he would have qualified like p7 with those tyres.
Also the mistake was the result of having cold tyres. Leclerc quali was completely doomed.

It was a strong possibility, but if somehow we end up with the reverse, with Alonso 1.5 ahead of Hulk, Charles DRS on Hulk and then later Alo... things could've progressed differently from there.

At least getting Russell would've been much more likely.

But to be fair, Charles made a mistake at the start following Alonso, without that mistake he could have got behind Hulk, overtaken him and fought for the podium.

Pipe dream. He was divebombed by Colapinto.

Again the race went better than i expected, probably thanks to the new DRS zone they added. From P9 to P5 without a SC is like a miracle in Singapore.

I think it's because the updates, and the car has become good enough to fight the McLaren rocketship, of course we'll wait for Austin as confirmation, but there is a thought that with our suspension we are much more sensitive to temperature changes than the competitors.

Leclerc qualifying P7 would have put him on the podium. Suddenly he's only behind Hulkenberg and can breeze by him fairly quickly since there isn't a DRS train. That lets him put pressure on the Mercs immediately and perhaps even make a pass before the pit stops.

What killed Leclerc's race wasn't a lack of pace or the Mercs in front of him. It was the fact that Hulkenberg and Alonso had a DRS train that cost him like 30-40 seconds of race time.

Overall a decent race considering the damage inflicted in Qualifying. The pace was very strong but it is what it is. Onto Texas.
