The situation with Marshall and Houldey. Obviously they promoted Houldey in 2024 nonetheless to TD (Engineering).

In 2023 they announced Marshall as TD (Engineering & Design).

ALO was in Oviedo the last 10 days and just took off from there to the US, no sim run in the factory. Often he makes a sim run before bigger updates. So let's wait how much they got for Austin.
They do have more than 1 person sharing responsibility. It isn't all on 1 guys shoulders.

James Allison wasn't fired by Ferrari because of the 2014 car, he left in 2016 because of the death of his wife and he wanted to go back to UK to stay with his family.
I also don't remember him being responsbile for the F14T. His first Ferrari car was with the 2015.

I read that he was fired instead but you could be right. Perhaps the guys over at the Ferrari thread know better, I'll ask them.

According to italian journo rumour has it AMR25 concept could present a fairly radical change compared to this season.

so do we think they went with the copy approach or innovative. im assuming cardille could have more of an influence rn on the car as opposed to newey

I am always a bit sceptical, hearing such things. Last year they told basically the same things. But after all it’s simple, you are able to make the car faster or not. This whole „laying foundation for 2025“ is just another Blabla to buy time.

Yeah, exactly. The opposite of a CTO being responsible.
Yeah, that's not how I see it. The CTO has Veto power but is there to share responsibility with the TD. The TD still has the same TD job. The TD now has someone to bounce stuff off of. The people that report to the TD don't all of a sudden report to the CTO.


I could be wrong and maybe it might vary depending on the people involved.

If Cardile arrives after Newey, and we consider the time for his onboarding on the team it will take a lot to start to influence the car.

McLaren started their path the last season and we are yet to start the investigation now.
So that article ...there were several others based on an interview Krack gave end of September early October. It doesn't say a copy approach.

it says "McLaren’s 2024 machine, the MCL38, has emerged as the leading package in the F1 paddock, despite the side introducing minimal developments compared to rivals."


Many small upgrades over several races approach, instead of many parts in one large upgrade over 1 race. This is not actually coping what McLaren are doing on the car, just the process.

This very article is why I'm not sure the upgrade we'll see in TX will be large. It might just be 1 piece(floor).

Yes, one thing I would probably be confident in is that AMR will probably have, one of if not the best, aerodynamically efficient cars within a couple of years of the new regs. I say a couple of years coz FIA can be corrupt in rule interpretations and allow loop holes like the double diffuser if its done by their favorite teams. So race wins might be on the table. Title wins is another story all together.
