A big missed opportunity. Max deserves his WDC this year. Congrats. The team needs to improve in all areas if they want to challenge for WDC next year. This needs to be a learning year.

I just hope we can win WCC because the team deserves it for the development of this car.

BTW I really hate wet races - usually it's a lottery that goes away from McLaren (Sochi, Silverstone, ...).
Yeah, this was the coup de grace for the WDC, it's going to take literal acts of God at this point. And yeah, wet races absolutely suck. It's all just chaos.

McLaren doesn't have the experience in these situations.

NOR, despite the fact I cheer for him and Mclaren, he does not deserve the title, a amateur race hours after his champion like qualifications. The difference in performance, concentration, delivery on track is just too big from weekend to weekend, from session to session, but I guess it is a learning curve for him, at the moment he is a great racer, one of the best on the grid, but not a championship material, not yet.

I don't think Lando Norris ever had the talent or the attitude to match Max Verstappen and I don't think he will ever have it. He should be more dirty, he should learn how to drive in the rain and he should learn to be consistent.

I am dissapointed to Lando and Oscar. I also don't think he deserves the WDC if he is losing from Ocon, Gasly and Rusell.
Great job with "they are the best" when they win and "they are the worst" when they loose. You have no knowledge of what was happening on the track, the cars were obviously set with too much drag and couldnt overtake, red flag sealed the deal. Except from Max and Alpines, everybody else made mistakes during the race.
Next time think trough before you post.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

Max drove like the world champion is supposed to drive today. Just shows he doesn't need to pull off the dirty tactics that just stain his reputation for no reason.

McLaren on the other hand, well the whole team needs to let go of the WDC right now and focus on getting the WCC. Should have taken more points out of Ferrari today, but it didn't happen.

As for Lando, he has not been a WDC-level driver this year except for a handful of races so you can't be mad about him not getting it in the end. The pressure got to him because he has had better seasons from a personal perspective when he had weaker cars. Needs to work on that for next year.

Neither driver stood out? I cannot understand how anyone can't recognise the mastery of Maxs display and the absolute gap in class between the two drivers, it's that big here today

Agree.

I think it there wasn't the train of drivers Max would have overtaken Charles pretty quick but slip stream vs slip stream. Held him up a little.

I don't think Lando still has to learn a little on being more agressive in overtaking. Poor starts etc.

But I think he has improved there this year too. Just not quite enough
Both Lando and Oscar have a lot of work to do in the off-season.
Agree.

I think Oscar best and worst is still not quite there. But will learn

Lando I think despite the critisium has improved quite a bit this year. I think last week his move on Max around the outside was a Max like move was agressive and knew Max would push him wide I think he had in his mind he could bail on T5 before the corner and claim he was avoiding a collision, but he still gets caught out too often, letting Max turn the inside on the first lap corner - yes Max peobably pushing the limits there but he opens himself to it, Piastri too a few races ago catching him unaware. But I think they will all learn

I wonder if as FittingMechanic said above somewhere, did McLaren choose the wrong rear wing. I think Lando was faster then Ferrari and Mercedes but too slow in the straight and was never really a change didn't help

On the positive note, no need for the team orders anymore :D It was nice having a distant look at WDC possibility.

And what about Max Verstappen? Was he set up with a better wing? Let's not make excuses. He drove today like a champion something that our drivers have a lot of work to do.

His ups and downs in form are keep surprising me, in the same day, he drove like a champ and like a rookie.

Everyone in the team has been in this business for a long time already, they've had dozens of wet Grand Prix in their careers, its not that they got together yesterday

Also, what's stupid is taking those words literally

The plan was to lead and run away, once he got stuck behind Russell he was limited.

Overtaking was difficult, only Verstappen made progress.
