He drove a faultless race. Not a wheel put wrong.

He was too good for Hamilton, and he is way too good for Norrischrisc90 wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 20:40He drove a faultless race. Not a wheel put wrong.
Ill definitely give him that. Having a faster car will help with that though.chrisc90 wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 20:40He drove a faultless race. Not a wheel put wrong.
I disagree. The car was setup lovely today. But you cant deny that all of the overtakes were done purely down to driver talent.GrizzleBoy wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 20:42Ill definitely give him that. Having a faster car will help with that though.
Thats why he didnt have faultless races when he wadst dramatically faster than every other car.
Come on, what's with the need for all this downplaying always? We know the car is not as fast as the MCL, and has been on the backfoot compared to FER as well recently. It was not miles faster today, his teammate didn't even get it into a scoring position despite 5 drivers dropping out.GrizzleBoy wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 20:42Ill definitely give him that. Thats why he didnt have faultless races when he wasnt dramatically faster than every other car.
Edit: The delusion after winning the first race since i dont even remember is crazy.
He didnt battle any ody today, his car was just faster and got lucky with the timing of the SC on a track where nobody could pass unless their car was massivley faster than everyome around them.
Im not even saying hes not a good driver, but jeez.
Just seen the edited part there from Grizzle.DChemTech wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 20:55Come on, what's with the need for all this downplaying always? Max just did a stellar job here. Starting with an epic first lap, and several good overtakes after.
Nah Alpines are on a lower level. The window was gone.Tommy.G wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 20:05Yeah he’s probably talking about the red flag and the free change of tires that basically got Max in front of Norris!
But in any case Max’s pass on Ocon at the restart was the thing that made the difference for me! Ocon had a huge chance to win today but he screwed it with that restart…

Here's some advice: Just enjoy watching the best driver ever driving in real time, live, as it happens. In some years you will be able to look back on this and realise how lucky you were to have this blessing.
No, you're right.venkyhere wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 21:05GrizzleBoy wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 20:42Ill definitely give him that. Having a faster car will help with that though.

Mate, don't descend to facebook forum levels of teenager pettiness.
Are you also going to say the Alpine with the weakest engine on the grid, was setup better than the McLaren ? Why didn't Norris and Piastri close the gap to the alpines after the 2nd restart ? They all had the same fresh inters, didn't they ? McLaren went for the bigger rear wing for Sunday (quali and race) didn't they ?
Wet races are a great 'leveller' of the 'equipment'. Human talent makes the difference, in such situations. Yes, there was the red flag luck, but so was bad luck with the same red flag in qualifying. So that levels it off. Verstappen's superior talent shone through. No arguments about that.
It shone through on the same track in 2016 and it shone through today. I still consider the 2016 drive to be superior, because it was a much younger and inexperienced version of the same driver. In both cases, all the overtakes WITHOUT DRS.
GrizzleBoy, learn to acknowledge truths, even if you don't like them.
