Hamilton is closely following several cars and in dirty air and losing downforce; Russell has no one in front of him. Apples and oranges......
GR did mention that he was not able to floor the accelerator due to the weather condition. Maybe that's the difference.

Anybody thinking Hamilton has unlearned to drive 3 years after 2021 doesn't know what they are talking about.
Its not even that far back. In wet Spa qualy of this year he was quick. 4 tenths on Russell to be precise. All i see are the trolls coming out the woodwork to admit this has been Hamilton level since 2007.

Calling all kinds of critics of a driver as trolls is really uncalled for and a really bad trend. Let me remind that in 2021, Russel out qualified Lewis at the same venue, in a Williams! That car, a backmarker, had no business being there. In wet, wet-dry conditions, the gaps are insignificant. Keeping it on track and getting the job done is more important.

No matter how much people try to defend, it's undeniable that Lewis has aged and he is not going to be beating these young drivers. At this age, adaptability is going to be a massive challenge as cars keep evolving. Lewis cannot do what he used to do in his hay days, hustle the bad cars and get performance out of them. If Ferrari does what Ferrari does, he isn't going to have an easy life at Ferrari either, especially agasint Charles. He is not the first superstar driver to be facing this kind of situation. The longer a driver hangs on, the worse it becomes.

Apart from the fact he’s beaten these young drivers, and won two races this year 😂

I've never seen a more facetious side-by-side-comparo video.
A classic case of confirmation bias - selecting the footage to suit the preconceived conclusion.
It's like a 15 second propaganda tutorial. Pick two seemingly similar but in reality different scenarios, omit any context about why they are different, imply there's a conspiracy.

It's amazing how many fair minded people can buy into cr*p like that as long as it plays into their biases.

Is George leading him in points again? Oh my God. This is a total mess of a season. I'll take the Silverstone and Spa wins and be happy. Getting out performed by George doesn't even mean anything when the car is a rolling science lab each week.

The divorce just needs to happen ASAP. There’s no positive outcome from continuing like this, and these ridiculous edited videos just fan the flames of sabotage. KA should be in for the next three races, in preparation for 25’. That’s the decision that needs to be made, but probably too sensible a decision for a shambles of a team like Mercedes to proactively make.

As for Hamilton and his fans, they just need to suck it up, and wait for next season. At Ferrari, I’m expecting a rejuvenation similar to what Alonso experienced at Aston last year. It’s all car dependent, and not age related, as many lazily fall back on. That’s why Alonso is hanging on for, 26’. Hamilton hasn’t forgotten how to drive, as his wins have showcased this season.

Adding some fuel to the fires, in both of Hamilton's wins, Russell was either DNF or DSQ.

Feel like people also need to stop using Alonso as the standard for drivers over 40. He is very much the exception not the rule.

Yawn, ive been seing comments from a few posters that have been saying putting it on thick because finally hes been " exposed " in there eyes. The fact you mentioned Russell in 2021 says it all why people like you keep moving the goal posts . Im talking about THIS YEAR, i literally said his performance in SPA QUALYFING 2024 was competitive.

Aged yes but dropped all this performance in the space of 5 races when he's leaving and trailing experimental setups. You genuinely think thats his performance level now. Ferrari has there issues but i doubt it has fundamental CAR issues like Merc do. Ive been banging on about the bed in period will be crucial for Lewis, that can not be understated.

That side by side footage is partly indigenous but not far from the truth. Lewis's car was not acting right and if numerous drivers had those type of issues during the weekend and race i would expect them to be vocal about it like Lewis was.

Merc, Lewis, Bono, Toto are all going through the motions and have mentally checked out. Even Russell doesn't give a flying fk about Ham now. He knows the team are fully backing him and his level of performance has increased, that goes hand in hand imo. Actually it wouldn't surprise me if Lewis is locked out of the post race debriefs now .

Hamilton overtook him on track, yes. Would Russell have had a similar stint to Lewis on the softs. Thats all speculation.

Spa they left Lewis out to dry, Not telling him Russell was in the frame for the win. Having tyre life left after every stint. Russell was 5th all race until he said fk it just keep me out.

Alonso with a shite driver like Stroll you can't even compare with Russell whos levels above. I will say his 2023 was some of the best driving of the season it really was a shame Redbull were so bullet proof because he deserved a few wins.

Alonso also had time out from 2018 - 2020 and raced in 21, Hamilton has been flat out for the last 17 years with no break.

A very small sporting benefit for a very big PR nightmare. Lewis should see out his days at Merc and get a proper send off at Abu Dhabi by the team. It doesn't matter if he isn't performing well, both parties owe it to one another for all they have accomplished.

Yea i dont think Lewis should leave early just because he had one bad weekend, he finished P5 in Monza, p6 in singapore, spun in COTA and got stuck in gravel cause of an unstable car and then got P4 in Mexico so its not like hes just suddenly forgot how to drive or is having a streak of bad performances
