Anybody thinking Hamilton has unlearned to drive 3 years after 2021 doesn't know what they are talking about.
Its not even that far back. In wet Spa qualy of this year he was quick. 4 tenths on Russell to be precise. All i see are the trolls coming out the woodwork to admit this has been Hamilton level since 2007.
Calling all kinds of critics of a driver as trolls is really uncalled for and a really bad trend. Let me remind that in 2021, Russel out qualified Lewis at the same venue, in a Williams! That car, a backmarker, had no business being there. In wet, wet-dry conditions, the gaps are insignificant. Keeping it on track and getting the job done is more important.
No matter how much people try to defend, it's undeniable that Lewis has aged and he is not going to be beating these young drivers. At this age, adaptability is going to be a massive challenge as cars keep evolving. Lewis cannot do what he used to do in his hay days, hustle the bad cars and get performance out of them. If Ferrari does what Ferrari does, he isn't going to have an easy life at Ferrari either, especially agasint Charles. He is not the first superstar driver to be facing this kind of situation. The longer a driver hangs on, the worse it becomes.
Yawn, ive been seing comments from a few posters that have been saying putting it on thick because finally hes been " exposed " in there eyes. The fact you mentioned Russell in 2021 says it all why people like you keep moving the goal posts . Im talking about THIS YEAR, i literally said his performance in SPA QUALYFING 2024 was competitive.
Aged yes but dropped all this performance in the space of 5 races when he's leaving and trailing experimental setups. You genuinely think thats his performance level now. Ferrari has there issues but i doubt it has fundamental CAR issues like Merc do. Ive been banging on about the bed in period will be crucial for Lewis, that can not be understated.
That side by side footage is partly indigenous but not far from the truth. Lewis's car was not acting right and if numerous drivers had those type of issues during the weekend and race i would expect them to be vocal about it like Lewis was.
Merc, Lewis, Bono, Toto are all going through the motions and have mentally checked out. Even Russell doesn't give a flying fk about Ham now. He knows the team are fully backing him and his level of performance has increased, that goes hand in hand imo. Actually it wouldn't surprise me if Lewis is locked out of the post race debriefs now .
“And that’s part of the game, is being able to be adaptive, and we’ve got this new car – I don’t know how it’s going to handle, hopefully she’s great.”
