Some say this was heard of already in September.
Dan Fallows joined the team in April 2022 and was very much a part of the AMR23, which adopted some of the Red Bull characteristics.
From what I could read...
https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/arti ... mvx314j1zoExecutive director Bob Bell, a highly regarded and experienced design engineer who joined the team in March, will fill in on a temporary basis.
Fallows' departure is a move driven by new managing director Andy Cowell. The former head of Mercedes' F1 engine programme started at Aston Martin in October.
The plan is to appoint a new technical director, but likely only after Newey and Cardile have started work and decided their plans.
https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/asto ... /10672396/Fallows was set to report to Cardile, who will join as Chief Technical Officer, but Motorsport.com understands the team hasn't yet decided if Fallows will be directly replaced once its new hires are in place.
In the meantime, Fallows' responsibilities will be absorbed by Aston's current technical leadership, which includes deputy technical director Eric Blandin and Bob Bell, who holds the role of Executive Director - Technical.
I am always wary of a newcomer immediately cleaning house, as that person cannot possibly understand the complexity of an 800+ person team in a month. I certainly hope this wasn't a rash decision.
Fallow wasted too much time already trying prove himself, its a right choice for now.
Imo it does not seem to be a rash decision as some have commented it was heard already in September. Andy knows how to run groups of people very well, I would not think he made a rookie mistake!
