Well Bob Bell was hired to take up the 2026 car Project, that work is almost done. The 2026 car project will become the main stream project pretty soon. He's probably looking for new things to do.KimiRai wrote: ↑12 Nov 2024, 15:46From what I could read...
https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/arti ... mvx314j1zoExecutive director Bob Bell, a highly regarded and experienced design engineer who joined the team in March, will fill in on a temporary basis.
Fallows' departure is a move driven by new managing director Andy Cowell. The former head of Mercedes' F1 engine programme started at Aston Martin in October.
The plan is to appoint a new technical director, but likely only after Newey and Cardile have started work and decided their plans.
https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/asto ... /10672396/Fallows was set to report to Cardile, who will join as Chief Technical Officer, but Motorsport.com understands the team hasn't yet decided if Fallows will be directly replaced once its new hires are in place.
In the meantime, Fallows' responsibilities will be absorbed by Aston's current technical leadership, which includes deputy technical director Eric Blandin and Bob Bell, who holds the role of Executive Director - Technical.
Yes. He won championships at Renault and Mercedes.
i would imagine that they consulted with Newey before making the decision. just for the simple fact that he had worked with him for a long time at redbull. i doubt that theyd want to get rid of somebody that Newey would consider irreplaceable.
The last "dud" grade which was pushed forward for months was final nail in the coffinjofs89 wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 10:08I'm glad they have finally made this decision. You can't go 2 years in F1 with every upgrade not delivering. It is unacceptable for a team that want to win championships, and ultimately the buck stops with Fallows as TD. I'm sure he's a great aerodynamisist but clearly that didn't transfer over to TD. I was always a bit inspired by the interviews he gave, they always just sounded like generic corporate speak, he never instilled much confidence Imo. They've seemed completely lost for a while now. I personally think this is the right call.
Actually can... this year all the team pushing in the good direction ,except one team,Aston. They says the 25 car looks promissing, but this all marketing for Aston stocks and etcetera. In F1 no miracle...PinkFloydPulse wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 10:526 months too late with that tbh... but better now than never. Let's see what the future brings, but it cannot get much worse than this...
Maybe now, with bob bell and others in front and Fallow out of the way, maybe can AMR25 could be better than how he is today, but, i think they will start 2025 fighting in the back row, around p13-p14. I know fallow is not the unique responsable about AMR24, but, all of us remeber, last year they had conflicts between factory team and track team about where the development should move in. Fallow probably was in the front one of theseOnEcRiTiCaL wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 12:53Actually can... this year all the team pushing in the good direction ,except one team,Aston. They say bb is temporary until a future decision. The technical director is responsible for everything, so also the suspension.diffuser wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 18:01Rikrikrik wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 15:21Maybe now, with bob bell and others in front and Fallow out of the way, maybe can AMR25 could be better than how he is today, but, i think they will start 2025 fighting in the back row, around p13-p14. Wonder how up to speed BB is on AMR24?
One day I really like to understand what a TD does....
Remember what happened to McLaren after Keys left? No they weren't locked out!!
Right but they're waiting for Newey and Cardile , Cardile doesn't join till June 2025 ....Sherrinford wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 19:19They say bb is temporary until a future decision.
