Lewis' last lap there compared to Leclerc was incredible, pity it wasn't a lap earlier. He pulled 2 seconds on him.

I'm surprised the stewards aren't having a look at that move from Piastri.
What is illegal about it? Or what rule does it disobey?
Easily 33.4 for erratic driving IMO.

No problem with Piastri’s move. It was late but not overly late, and it looked worse because of Russell’s very late lunge.

Beautiful team work from McLaren, even though it’s a bit bitter when the best driver doesn’t win. Not fun to be gifted a win either, but nice payback gesture anyway…

I recall similar incidents that were allowed recently but thanks for the exact regulation.
The incidents were NOR v HAM (Austin T1, 23), HAM v VER (Austin after back straight, 22)
Call a spade, a spade.

This track is pretty good for MotoGP but it I doesn't suit F1 racing.

That was awkward from McLaren really. They are the kings of cringe this year.

Rightfully, Oscar is owed his Sprint win from Brazil, but I generally disagree with team orders for this exact reason.

I feel robbed of the real result.

Great pace from George, not much he can do when McLaren cooperate like that. Piastri closed the door too much on the first move and made contact. George probably should have tried the outside on the second attempt.

Did Hamilton drive with less downforce compare to Russell?

The team told Norris not to do it but he ignored team orders, he said hes been wanting to do it since Brazil.

It's basically a second Hungaroring, pit straight a tiny bit longer.

"thank you, what you did in Brazil is apricated" goes a long way amongst what is in reality workmates. I'm sure both drivers got a lift from it

At least the Hungaroring has extreme elevation changes, runs through woodland and has stands rammed with fans. The weather occasionally spices things up also.

It certainly highlights a lack of overtaking opportunity

:? divebombs back on the menu. Seems drivers don't mind the verstappen style of overtake, so long as you can "keep it on track"
Hilarious that the same weekend where russell gifts us this pearl of ignorance, he complains that Piastri, who's ahead of him, just brutally shuts the door in front of him not leaving him any space, and then proceeds to go on the radio to say Piastri turned into him.

What do you want George?

There's no dissonance, the drivers (who are the experts here) agreed that the driver on the inside has the right to the corner. In this case that was George.
