A one place grid penalty for Verstappen is odd to say the least, but I don't think it'll affect Ferrari's race much unless Leclerc gets past both McLarens at the start somehow.

With such a long season, I decided to read some of the comments from Bahrain and Jeddah again. We really did make great progress, even with the Spain blip. Everyone is so close now but back then we were all satisfied with being 3 tenths off of Red Bull! As the season winds down, I think a big praise is due to the engineers for the development this season. To even be in a WCC fight considering the middle races is nothing short of incredible. Hoping for a great race today and a great end to 2024 for the team.

Spain blip cost us constructors championship though. But yes, great recovery.

Yes, but to bounce back in the manner the team did was quite impressive nonetheless. The post summer break results have been nothing short of very good even with clear areas of improvement for next year's car.

Next year genuinely has to be the year though. All of this positive momentum has culminated in us fighting at the front again, and now we need to capitalize on it. I have faith in Fred, the engineers, and the drivers to bring it.

I went back to the comments from Barcelona the other day. Needless to say things are much more positive now

How is it that when sainz is in front of Leclerc, (0.03s ahead in SQ) you are in ecstasy, but when Charles demolishes sainz (0.2s!) you are quiet. With this amount of understeer, sainz should be a lot closer.

One day you guys will realize that performance is massively impacted by the characteristics of the car. Maybe Lewis will like Ferrari balance next year and will perform much better.
Leclerc is better than Sainz obviously. But to his credit, this is Sainz's best season in Ferrari.

It remains to be seen whether Lewis will beat Sainz's 2024 performance. In any case, I hope the 2025 car is fast and Ferrari can challenge for the championship.

It is, and it's certainly a factor in Ferrari even having had sight of the WCC this year. Sainz has had much fewer 'off' weekends than usual.

Because yea, overall, Ferrari has been 'fastest car' at only a tiny handful of weekends this year. Clearly behind Red Bull at the start, and then clearly behind Mclaren for most of the year.

Sainz was instructed to not put Charles under pressure. And he didn't put Charles under pressure

If Charles fans assume that means do not pass, sorry, but you're wrong. Wording matters

The defense of this is honestly just getting laughable at this point.

Real "You said not to take a cookie from the jar, but it's not technically a jar!" energy right here. smh
Pretty disgusting Ad-Hominem falacy Seanspeed, no real arguments, just attack the person #-o
My argument was clearly that you're taking the 'wording matters' argument to a laughable level. I think I made that pretty obvious, but you'd rather not respond to that bit instead trying to play some victim instead. smh

I don’t think Leclerc needs to clear both off the line. I think clearing either Piastri or Norris will be enough since that would prevent them from playing DRS games.

If he gets the first one, Leclerc either manages to overtake the second one during stint 1 or has the ability to undercut, but he realistically needs to win the race for the WCC to be on.

Playing DRS when there is at least one pitstop ahead is not reasonable, you give your opponent more options to win a position, not only from the one you help, but also from you.
FORZA FERRARI!

I think the pit stop will decide their race. If they can find a good window where Charles can run in clean air for a few laps, their pace will help a lot. Looks like they are aiming for a one-stop so a well timed undercut could get him on the podium.

Won't all teams be on a one stop?

Something wrong with Leclerc's balaclava and he won't have his drink for the race... #-o

This is the second or third time this season.

Embarrassing understeer in the restart. Absolutely embarrassing.

The level of tire management happening right now is ridiculous. They better be cooking else having the drivers sandbag on purpose like this is just throwing away the WCC.
