Would Charles win on the count back if they tie?
That would be a lot more likely if his team mate allowed him anything this year.
lol don't you start

Yea, how does this work? Are Sprint race victories counted the same as feature race victories in a tie breaker? Cuz if Leclerc wins in Abu Dhabi, they'd both be on four total wins, but Leclerc would have 4+0, while Norris would have 3+1.

First sector in Abu Dhabi is going to be a disaster.

This thread is so calm today compared to the others... I'm glad we finally have a break here after Vegas
because the race ended like most this season. Leclerc in front of Sainz. imagine if Sainz had been in front of Leclerc, there would have been dozens of comments that once again Sainz ‘delivered’, that Ferrari chose the wrong driver blah blah blah....

am I right @Cs98??

I agree some users on here are overly harsh to Leclerc but I don't think we need to dwell on it or pick people out. Let's just enjoy the calm and the points from today, and hopefully this momentum is carried to AD :D

I'm not blaming him. I'm just saying that it was unlucky that he didn't get past Gasly. Although him losing position to Gasly on the restart was actually on him.
To be fair Leclerc also lost a position on one of the starts. The car was a handful at T1 in particular.
That is true. Sainz lost it because he went off attempting to overtake Russell though, not because Gasly was necessarily faster.

Either way it doesn't matter much. I think Sainz did a good job all things considered. It's easy to be critical in hindsight, but considering the circumstances then and there I don't necessarily think he deserves a lot of blame for it. The result was much better than Ferrari really deserved either way.

No man, people here are more calm cuz we managed to gain points on Mclaren in the WCC despite every reason to believe it should have been the opposite and the end of the championship. We're relieved, despite it not really being super positive from a pace perspective, though we expected to be slower here to begin with.

Abu Dhabi can hopefully be different, even if WCC is still quite the long shot. Wish it wasn't a night race...

Abu Dhabi is still warm at night isn't it? Not hot but warmer than Qatar. At least that's how I remember it.

How was the deg today? It looked to me like Leclerc had been faster than Verstappen and Norris a few laps by the time the safety car came out. I mean he was never going to win it regardless, but I'm curious if he was suffering less deg than his competitors regardless.

It also looks like the ambients temps will be higher so tire temps shouldn’t be a problem next weekend

I couldn't remember. But with the race so late in the year in December, daytime temps are pretty reasonable, so there's no outright need for it to be at night, though of course that's not the only reason for it.

I'm still expecting to be competitive regardless, though also wouldn't be surprised if we're still a few cents short of a dollar when it comes down to it. Mclaren is still the better car, full stop. WCC will need some stars to align.

To the person who asked about Sainz's damage, he mentioned it here. Unfortunate but I don't think it was avoidable, just terrible luck.
