but Alonso didn't have many performances where I recall him having a uniquely strong drive and elevating the racecar. Heck, he was pretty well schooled at COTA by Lawson during wheel-to-wheel.
In COTA Aston brought the final update package of the year which, again, was another total failure that made the car worse. It had so much visible understeer on onboards where you had to steer more than any other team for the car to turn. That Alonso put it on Q3 was a big overperformance already, Lawson did not school anyone.

Alonso scored 27 points after the summer break.

Stroll scored...... 0

Alonso did incredibly well, his car was just awful.

Leclerc and Verstappen absolutely put on the most impressive performances that grabbed attention. Leclerc's drive in Abu Dhabi was arguably the best of his career, and the same goes for Verstappen in Brazil, but it's hard for Alonso to impress with a car that sucks.
Most don't pay attention to what happens outside of the lead cars or their favourite team. It's okay to be fair. Not relevant to Ferrari F1 team thread
Thanks for the context about Aston's development trajectory. You're correct, I don't follow Aston Martin closely so my comment was unfair.

what is that sports car that carols drove? Overall good sendoffs both have parted ways in a positive way.

The only strategy errors I can remember are Silverstone and to a lesser extent Baku.

If there were anymore than that, I forgot about them already

I'd say Canada somewhat w Charles since they tried to send him out there with slicks when the track absolutely wasn't ready but that's not totally representative. Otherwise, it has been a very good season strategy wise other than the two races you mentioned.

Ferrari's 2025 car only shares 1% of the SF-24
https://autoracer.it/it/sorpresa-ferrar ... ella-sf-24

Vasseur announces that less than 1% of the SF-24 components have been transferred to the 2025 car
The Italian team expects a lot from the 2025 car because, as already pointed out several times, it has invested a lot of technical resources, setting a completely new design that sees changes in all macro areas of the single-seater: from the chassis, then the position of the driver and engine, to the mechanics as well as the aerodynamic surfaces. “We are in the fourth year of applying this regulation and we know our previous design very well. That is why the 2025 car will be completely new.” announced Fred Vasseur during the Christmas lunch in Maranello.
A calculated risk according to the team principal of the Italian team, although with the current regulations “sometimes you have the feeling that you are not taking risks but then on the track you realize that instead they were.” Important changes will be at the front, with the suspension becoming of the pull-rod scheme, following the philosophy already used by Mclaren and Red Bull. Linked to the major mechanical strides, the aerodynamic surfaces of the floor have also undergone a major redesign since, as far as AutoRacer understands, it will be quite different from the first spec 25 iteration seen on the track since Las Vegas. Surprisingly, compared to the car that won 5 of the 24 races during the season that just ended, they will even change 99 percent of the parts, as Vasseur said Ferrari 2025 will share “less than 1 percent of the current car,” for what is for all intents and purposes truly a different project designed to try to win at least one of the two world championships available.

See... I really did forget about that! Maybe I deleted that entire weekend from my mind!

Just from looking on the outside along with interviews and Autoracer's information, it seems a lot of these improvements come down to Vasseur creating a better working environment, and hiring the right people.

I can't wait to see what the 99% new 2025 car has in store for us =P~

What a cool sendoff Carlos got! Ferrari really made an effort to show him all the respect they could and made the best out of a bad situation.
