Of course there are similarities as Aston is still a customer of Mercedes. In fact, Aston kept the same 2024 Mercedes gearbox, same Mercedes frozen engine, same suspensions both at front and rear and more.
But good news is that Aston is 100% new aerodynamically as Cowell said. We can also see the Luca Furbato's touch, similar to the Torro Rosso back in the days, with a concentration of raiding mass above the engine for more cooling space in the tail at the bottom.
In less then 24h we will know more about the performance of these chooses, although I think they are focusing more on making the car easier to drive rather then focusing on performance.
We can only guess at the end we are not F1 experts.
