Nah i don't bite that, is a risk for Max to go to MB. RB even if he lost Newey still has the DNA to be better in aero. I don't remember MB to be good in this except the years of their engine domination where they where bolting dornbarn wings because they had extra power. Who is to say that from 2026 they will achieve the same in engine? To me all ICE will be almost equal and the game will be played in the electric stuff where MB is not the best.
Merc are the only engine manufacturer that's against changes to the current regulations. All of the others are either pushing for changes like Red Bull or 'open to negotiation' like Ferrari. Not only should this tell you a lot, but it directly lines up with the rumours that Merc are very happy with their engine.bluechris wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025, 19:36Nah i don't bite that, is a risk for Max to go to MB. Bottom line i don't see a reason for Max to leave before 2027 if somehow RB botch everything.
Max is not happy with F1 these days, he is a racer and he doesnt have to do it for the money, who knows
I can't find the quote/article. But I remember reading about some mechanical parts are expected in Miami (cake tin, possible rear suspension?) and then aero (new floor confirmed) for Imola. (and allegedly we had the internal rearrangement in Jeddah)
RB wants a good show and Ferrari is more interested in promoting their ICE to sell more cars. So it also aligns from that perspective.organic wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025, 19:38Merc are the only engine manufacturer that's against changes to the current regulations. "We were surprised, but positively surprised," Marko said afterwards in the paddock of Jeddah about the race pace. "Compared to Bahrain, we have made a lot of progress, although this circuit also suits us better. Here you have a lot more fast corners and different asphalt, which helped us," Marko acknowledges"We are making steps and trying to make the car more predictable. We are also working on giving the car a larger window." "We are taking small steps. "I think we should be in a position around Imola where we have the speed to beat the McLarens," Marko said quite optimisticallyFinally, some optimism, the upgrades looked like they worked which is hopefully giving the team more confidence that the step by step updates in MIA and IMO are going to work too."Well, fortunately the race is not around lunch and normally the sun goes down. We have to see how it goes there and if we can find more performance, but I normally think we can be competitive there as well."
Also, this quote from Horner was interesting, it was just 1 track in JED but the correlation/setup was good for the 1st time in a long time, the team wasn't lost in FP1 and FP2.Horner has already explained that Red Bull did not know how to find that in Bahrain, making the picture look particularly bad, and that the optimal window prior to qualifying in Jeddah has been found for that circuit.
Why should Russel go to RBR?
I don't think Russell particularly wants to go to RedBull, but it might be his best option if he finds himself out of Mercedes.
Why RB will want Russel really? I mean what he has shown in comparison to Max and i don't speak for championships now. He is above average and that's it, Max is a generation talent and can only be replaced with an equal or a bit less equal like Leclerc for example.
