I don’t think there is disagreement about the cars issues. Horner’s role is not the same as Max’s. Horner has a job to maintain morale by praising the work that is being done, and to make Red Bull look good in the media by hyping the small wins and defending his drivers no matter what.

Personally I really care more about the fact the RBR could well follow the McL, but I agree with the issue of the FIA inconsistency and dumb/blunt reasoning.

Looking at Palmer's analysis on F1 TV it seems that F1 Tempo traces are not accurate, or at least not for the first lap. Maybe the issue is that because Max is slightly ahead, he brakes slightly earlier by distance from his starting spot but that effectively they brake at the same position. In the Palmer video he shows that Max carried more speed through that corner than he did on Q3 pole lap.

Which makes sense, because on single push laps they sacrifice T1 for a good exit off T2, so they carry more speed on the straight after T2.

Well, they couldn't change weight distribution much, as front/rear weights are mandated by regulation. Article 4.2 from the 2025 Technical Regulations:

With the car resting on a horizontal plane the mass measured at the front and rear axles must
not be less than the mass specified in Article 4.1 factored by 0.446 and 0.539 respectively at
all times during the Sprint Qualifying practice and Qualifying sessions. Rounding will be to
nearest 0.5kg.

That’s interesting because softer settings also helps with tire degradation.

On that point again, I also noticed looking at the helmets of each driver during the race that Max’s helmet didn’t move up and down as much as some of the others (Mclaren, Ferrari). It was hard to understand whether the track was bumpy or the other cars were bouncing from the aerodynamics.

Yep, so they must be talking about weight distribution at a non-horizontal plane. Or in other words, how the load shifts under motions, like dive, squat and/or roll.

I suppose they could change the side to side c.g. depending on what were the most critical turns, similar to tire stagger for Indy oval races; I seriously doubt they would raise the c.g.

There is literally infinite way of allocating the weight within the car's 3 dimensions while meeting above criteria.

the puzzling thing, according to him, is that both parties are 100% sure of their ideas, so someone is going to be very disappointed come Barcelona.

Giving himself only 10 points margin for the rest of the season and thinking McLaren will be nowhere is a bit contradicting. But I guess, we'll have to see.
