Certainly feels like they are going out of their way to advantage Lance and give Alonso as little help and time as possible unlike 2024,2023 where it was balanced. This is not that for sure.
But let’s play devils advocate and assume it’s because Alonso is too adaptable and thats not just a PR answer. Why not communicate that to the driver instead of leaving him in the dark? And did they really need two sessions to establish whether an update was good or not?
You guys sound like Stroll and Alonso are 1 and 2 in the drivers championship while ...."According to Alonso, there is currently no major pressure. The season is already written off anyway. Now it's just a matter of optimizing the processes and learning as much as possible for the coming year. "
If a driver feels a team is not

behind them it can affect them. If you don’t think this will affect motivation and in turn performance then you don’t understand psychology. If it doesn’t matter then why do it in the first place instead of keeping things equal when there’s nothing to fight for? It’s nonsensical. Alonso is strong mentally so he’ll put on a brave face but a part of him will feel betrayed.
I really don’t buy into that.
Since Alonso joined AM F1, they've been alternating who tests the upgrades first. Every time it’s not him, SOME people from his camp try to spin it into some kind of betrayal. But when he is the one to try them, it’s all of a sudden, “Oh, look, they’re smart! He’s the better driver!”
Let’s be real here—it’s just a matter of taking turns. There’s nothing more to read into it.
Alonso is 43, not 10. He’s not going to sulk just because he doesn’t test the NEW parts first.
