according to motorsport.it Ferrari can finally run the car lower and with more consistant load generated because of the new floor, Silverstone also being smooth and front limited is helping them as well.

Which Byrne's advice he ignored?
When you say "not up to the task of deciding suspension concept and performance targets", you mean in general or specifically for the front axle?

Advice on rear suspension layout and I guess performance targets too. I meant in general about Cardille, not just front or rear

They are running the car closer to whatever they intended so it's working.

Track conditions are the only thing that might hamper them in quali

I too noticed how low (similar to others) it was running, in FP2. In my mind, the new floor has reduced peak loading => rear suspension softness doesn't smash the plank => no need to raise ride height => more overall downforce at all speed ranges

As you could hopefully see in the above picture, it seems that, at least in the first part in the FP2 session, both cars were bouncing and maybe the ride height was raised after, bearing in mind the wear plank checks...

Not really, it allowed them to run higher and at different ride height change rate in the rear so they can setup the car according to plank wear limits

What allows them to run lower in Silverstone is good and flat track surface, but this is the same for everyone

LiCo would be used for plank wear issues in Silverstone, not brake cooling. But seeing that they're competitive today could mean that they didn't have to raise the car like they did in the past.

LiCo would be used for plank wear issues in Silverstone, not brake cooling. But seeing that they're competitive today could mean that they didn't have to raise the car like they did in the past.

Plank wears during high load corners when the car rolls or as they attack kerbs coming out of corners. They do not wear because you go straight, LiCo is not about plank, it’s about tires, brakes, fuel savings.
