Hmm, not sure I liked Oscar asking for the swap with Lando, there think he threw away the win - don't think he can complain too much about the penalty - Lando has the race under control now.\
Fantastic drive from both Oscar and Lando today.
Fully agreed. Asking for a swap in Silverstone, Lando's home race is just crazy and for something that is fully your own fault. They were not fighting for the race win and stewards intervened. This was another of a SC leader doing shady things (like Russell against Verstappen), I hope they clamp down on this.
The rules are obviously set, they each run their own race. The car in front pits first (this seems to be a rule).
Great work team, but we are lucky that Verstappen spun. This removed the need from Lando to again overtake Verstappen on track (after a slow stop). Without that spin who knows.
Was rightly shut down pretty quickly, I commented on the race thread about the penalty the only think I question is what Russell did something very similar a few weeks ago and nothing happened - they gave the excuse he was warming his brakes in the same place Max had previous races (not lost on me Max played those games for years) I tend to think George knew exactly what he was going here, Oscar....I am not sure so haven't seen a good enough replay of where he was looking knowing where Max was.
Without Max's spin I think Oscar probably wins that I think he would have built enough of a gap to cover Lando by the time he passed Max. I have never really been a fan of if you have a car as dominant as the McLarens were today in the damp/wet conditions how you can basically neutralised any penalty. Know if you're nor dominating its not easy, just saw it for years with Max and RBR, and Lewis/Merc.
Anyway a great race for McLaren today. Had a fantastic weekend.
