Russell the alleged superstar should position himself to replace fernando at aston in case he retires at some point
Aston are aiming for Verstappen too.
You don't seem to rate the plucky British superstar and have confidence that through the Briton's superior skills and superior engineering knowledge he would get much closer to Verstappen than the likes of Lawson and Tsunoda who are all at sea?
While Hadjar is a fine young driver, he is not a multiple race winner and manufacturer team leader like Russell is.
I raise the matter as Russell is out of contract and would IMO be an excellent signing for Red Bull.
''there is no reason to expect Hadjar would do significantly better than Lawson or Tsunoda either'' Did you think for a moment that maybe is not the drivers so just throwing another driver in the loop will not make any different.
:raises eyebrow: Surely there is merit to the notion that Russell and Leclerc are much better drivers than Tsunoda or Lawson, and due to their superior ability and understanding of F1 they would have less troubles understanding a difficult car.
Mike Elliot noted that he forgot George Russell is not trained as an engineer, so complete is his understanding. The same is true for Max Verstappen of course.
[Unless you abide by the conspiracy theories that the 2nd Red Bull car car is poorly prepared and equipped with sub-par engineers on purpose, which is just silly! In any case, as an experienced team leader Russell would know the kind of engineering support that a top team car is supposed to have.]
