Thought so.
For arguments sake let’s leave Lando out of it because he can do no right.

How much better was Hamilton’s and Verstappens third season in F1 compared to Piastri?
Different age, experience level and car performance so this discussion is useless.

Also offtopic.
lol.
Because the stats don’t favour Verstappen it’s off topic.
What does Hamilton, Verstappen, Alonso, Piastri, and Norris' status as potential "generational talents", specifically where they were in their third season (as opposed to their age 24 season), have to do with the 2025 Singapore GP? Other than the fact that they are all in the race.

You even stated " maybe not the correct topic . . ." before taking this thread further down this rabbit hole (". . . but who are the last 2 'generational talents', please").

Usually when Red Bull are so good on Friday they take pole and win! But the question is what can Piastri do…

Maybe not the correct topic but who are the last 2 ‘generational talents’ please?
Verstappen and Leclerc.
Ok same question as well, how much better was Leclerc’s third season than Piastri’s?
In his second season in F1, and his first with Ferrari, he defeated four-time world champion Vettel (he was 30, so any "too old" issue, we can put aside) . how about that?

Hamilton going full gas under red is totally bizarre.

Yeah, probably a bit silly from Lewis to push that hard.

Red flag so shouldn’t really be going full beans

There is a delta time to follow right ? if he's investigated it means he was over the delta time, so probably a penalty.

Mercedes up there in the heat is a bit of a surprise. Should be a contender for pole then at night time

In no way, shape or form. lol

If Norris and Piastri are 'generational talents', then that term doesn't mean anything anymore. I mean, they had the fastest car last year and Max still beat them convincingly. Even this year, both have had far too many instances where they're simply not taking advantage of having a dominant car like a proper top talent would.
We have slept over the first third of the season, havent we?
Absolutely not. They were regularly not performing to the car's capabilities from quite early on. It's been a consistent thing most of the year. And last year....

This isn't what happens with 'generational talents'. Come on.
So, since we see Max can win now that means he simply wasnt performing at many races this year....by your logic

Noone denies that Max is practically the best on the grid. But to banter Mclaren drivers 24/7 is just plain stupid. Both of them are easily in top 5. Practically all of the drivers in the top teams are performing much or less equally. Max does stand out. There is no denying in that. On the other hand he is much more prone to throw everything away when things dont go his way. Lando and Oscar will deliver a mediocre result when car is not there, but Max will finish at the low end of points or out of top ten with 20sec penalty, or at the side of the track due to a collision.

pretty sure. Safety related penalties are usually the heaviest.

For the first time in quite a while, the tire situation after FP3 is the same for everyone:

In Fp3 first 5 are with a tenth. Question is, who has left the most on the table. We are up for an exciting qualifying!
