We were aware that in the race, we would need some management for the brakes. Then due to the situation, due to the level of management that we have done, we arrived to run out of brakes the last four laps of the race. So we were a bit too aggressive, that is a mistake. I think we have to admit when we make mistakes. our method was not able to predict the fact that the choice was too aggressive. So we have to improve the tools to be able to predict what is going to happen.

So when you are at the limit, you learn. As well as in Mexico, we have to be a bit more conscious. I think it's just a reasonable approach."

Gearbox change for Lec, unsurprisingly he doesn't look comfortable. This new suspension has been terrible for him and getting no real FP time doesn't help

Lec was only +0.005 off of Albon (I wasn't even expecting Lec to make SQ3)

But I wonder how much the canceled floor would have helped.. maybe nothing, but also maybe something, I guess we'll never know

I don't think there's any incentive to do this to be honest. Is a potential P2 in the constructors really worth compromising 2026 for? Just take 4th and the extra wind tunnel time for next year. There isn't anything meaningful left for Ferrari to fight for this season.

They also chose to keep him in charge for 2 decades which is unheard of in F1.

Great coaches, managers, executives, drivers, etc. have been fired throughout sports history.

Doesn't mean they won't or can't go on to be successful elsewhere.

By coincidence, Federico Albano on Twitter pointed out that the top 7 cars in SQ today all had drivers/team members that were fired by or left Ferrari (Mekies, Stella, Binotto, Allison, Alonso, Sainz).

Vasseur said at the Maranello EV event that they aren't bringing anything for the season except more cooling for Mexico. They can't produce any new/extra parts because they have 99% resources into 2026. This includes not reverting back to the old suspension.

Next year will be worse. A weekend like this one will be considered positive in 2026.
