IMO the quali for the Sprint just gave more reasons for those suspecting that the repercussion is that Lando is first out in Q3. And what happened last night was in this direction. Lando took the track almost one minute before Oscar, although in SQ1 and SQ2 they hit the ground almost same time.
Oscar had the best track from performance perspective, as Max did. But he was closer to Nico than to Lando. I am expecting to see also today's quali and Mexico to draw a conclusion, but here in Austin, by doing this "game" mclaren only took the pole from Lando and gave it to Max. Anyway, was funny to watch F1Tv and to see that neither James Hinchcliffe, or Palmer, or Ruth...had a clue what the f''k mclaren is doing with this "Singapore case".
As I said, just a feeling, but the race will be very interesting: will Max cover Lando on the inside like he did in Austin , but with the risk to open the door for Oscar or he will be focus in taking the best line and to stay ahead, if not both McLaren's, at least of Oscar, the leader of the WDC?

Interesting performance analysis from our friend from Formula Data Analysis:
2nd (

McL) and 3rd (

Sauber) fastest in SQ had the worst top speed (324 km/h)

performance from high downforce

Pole-sitter had the 2nd highest (327 km/h)

great drag/downforce balance
Austin rewards diverse aero load levels!
