One point. He did what he could. The car was slower than the Sauber and the Haas. He hadn't no new softs either, so he had to manage tyres all the 2nd stint. A little luck, for once, with Sainz and Kimi getting out of the points... Otherwise, he would have finished 12th.
A race to forget. Bearman's poor start did not help Alonso any off turn 1.

On the positive side, Stroll was a good wing man! Think the Law was pretty close at one point and then had to contend with Stroll from behind, took some pressure off of Alonso.

I actually think Fernando was managing the gap to Lawson. He must have felt like Lance could be a threat with mediums, so he kept Lawson within DRS range.

Engineer told him to go flat out. We didn't get any cockiness from Alonso. We usually get a "no worries, I got this" when he's toying with the car behind. He was very quiet. Even his engineer was "Nothing but business"... Just stuff like "Try STRAT 5" or "you might want to try left yellow button in turn 12" or "turn HPP on".

So there is more reason for Mexico to be bad. Apparently all Mercedes engines will have to drop by nearly 20hp due to the engine failures from early in the season. A fix was made but it won't be enough to cope with the high altitudes. So I might skip this race entirely.
Halo not as bad as we thought

That's pretty normal with the altitude.

Bumps, thin air and an extremely long straight characterize the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez

Slightly improved weekend for AM this week at high altitude and less penalised for their draggy car?

It's a high DF track, so you'd think they'd be good here, they are generally good in a high DF configuration but F1 is more complicated than that. They have typically stunk up a storm in Mexico.

They don't have a draggy car. I just think they run more DF cause they're better able to control their ride height that way. Anyways, they seem to loose a ton of DF from the floor when they take off DF.

Points here will be a struggle looking at Fp1, when aston usually is good on Fridays.. Will be a bonus if they get any.

Classic case of the f1 channel wanting those clicks and views to the point of cutting its nose to spite its face. It’s really annoying
