Russell was behind Kimi because of the incident with Verstappen and Hamilton. That’s how Bearman got ahead of Verstappen. I don’t know how you’re telling me if I paid attention, Did you?f1isgood wrote: ↑27 Oct 2025, 09:08Why was Russell behind Kimi to begin with?SB15 wrote: ↑27 Oct 2025, 02:04This has to be a troll account. His team took 5-6 laps after to swap position to overtake Bearman when he had much more pace vs Kimi. Funny how you wrote this deranged comment without realizing Verstappen couldn't get past Bearman either though he was on the better mediums + has the "theoretical" fastest car.
This discussion isn't about Verstappen and actually on the mediums Mercs looked marginally quicker going by FP2 data.
All of Russell's wins have come in a clearly best car. He often gets what the car should get but nothing more. I will not change my opinion of this matter unless there is actual evidence he is any better than I perceive him to be. People can rate him as the best driver on the grid for all I care. That's their opinion this is mine.
Verstappen and Mediums were always going to be trash if you had paid any attention to the data. And Red Bull are not entirely new to being slower than a Haas at Mexico. They were slower than Magnussen last year as well.
Your opinion is your opinion, even though it’s incorrect. No way you came here saying that “Russell is only fast when the car is fast” nonsense. No Russell is fast when the tyres work properly, the track temps were at a scorching 52°C. Honestly this race was an outlier race because the track temps were so hot, everyone except for McLaren was struggling massively especially in the 2nd sector. Since the Mercedes doesn’t work well on hotter track temps it was a recipe for disaster. And don’t pay attention to FP2 data, because dirty air is definitely a factor that doesn’t get mentioned much in a worse case scenario for race with tracks temps that were boiling.
I should mention Leclerc because he was very compromised because he had the really hot tyres + doing LiCO.
And what’s this deal about Verstappen on Mediums was going to be trash when he was one of the only drivers to extend for 37+ laps and stay put on the softs with track position? (Which was smart)
Vs. Mercedes who wanted to pit twice and wait another 6-7 laps to swap the cars…When Russell clearly had the pace vs Kimi at that moment? Even the F1 Commentators were wondering what took Merc so long?
